OBAMA!

just because i'm curious, any other Obama '08 fans out there?

Well, I'm a Hillary backer.  But, I'd gladly take Obama over any of the Republican candidates!!!  I mean, come on, why the hell are they wasting time discussin evolution at a presidential debate???  The worst part is people don't see a problem with that.

I'm (obviously) an Obama backer...but I'd gladly take Hillary over any of the Republican candidates!  I've watched some of the Republican debates...they are both somewhat entertaining and very depressing.

I like Obama, I've read his books. I prefer him to Hillary, and honestly I do not trust her.

I like Edwards, but I like Obama alright from what I know of him.  I like that song about him...[I've got a crush on Obama] :)   And I also like Ron Paul on the republican side.

Not a Hillary fan. 

Not really sure who I'll vote for. In VA you get to choose which (one) primary you want to vote in -- you don't have to declare a party ahead of time, which is nice.

In September XM radio will have a new channel called POTUS '08 - it will be a nonpartisan, 24-hour campaign news and info channel (aka only for the diehard politicos)

parre - I loved Dreams From My Father...but haven't really gotten into The Audacity of Hope yet.  How did you like it?

It's a little more dry, he talks policy but I like what he has to say, especially about education. I enjoyed reading it.

that's what I noticed...don't get me wrong, I love policy reads, but would have loved a Dreams memoir-style sequel as well. 

i have to say i can't make up my mind about obama.  his islamic ties really worry me.  did you all know that he went to a radical islamic school?

Not that it should matter, but yes, he attended a Muslim school when he was a kid living in Indonesia.  His family moved to Indonesia, because his mother re-married an Indonesian man.  After two years at a Muslim school, he spent two years at a Catholic school before moving back to Hawaii at age ten.

I'm undecided between Obama and Giuliani.  I like Obama's grass-roots campaign style, but I don't like that he's inexperienced or that he supports affirmative action.  So, if the final race comes down to Obama vs. Giuliani, I might not even vote - I'd be thrilled either way.

Also, Hillary Clinton is poison.

I'm all about Obama...

I'm not a fan of anybody right now.  I'm waiting to see if a real contender emerges from the muddled and massive lineup.  I don't care what party.  I'm waiting patiently for that moderate centrist, with common sense, enough life experience to understand the world, and enough moxy to get things done. 

Does he or she exist?  I dunno.

PS Giuliani - I can't vote for an adulterer, especially the way he treated his wife and children, asking them to move out of the Mayoral mansion so he could move his mistress in.  9/11 may have erased that mortal sin in some eyes, but not mine. NO WAY will I vote for him.

Saying Obama has "Islamic ties" is like saying someone who attended 3rd and 4th grade in a Catholic school has ties to the Vatican.  He was a little kid.

Gore is the man...but I'm digging his climate change stuff now and I think he can do more as an individual than as president.

Claire- while I wouldn't call Obama a moderate centrist, I do admire his desire to work with both parties to get stuff done.
