obama wins iowa
waahooo!
i'm so excited...and ready for NH! yay!
Who cares about Iowa? Super Tuesday is what decides the nominees. Giuliani certainly didn't care about Iowa.
Oh and check your facts before you start harping on about Obama and the pledge of allegiance.

super tuesday is definitely more important in the big picture of it all...but iowa and new hampshire are more important in gaining momentum before going into super tuesday. iowa certainly doesn't set anything in stone, but it gets the ball rolling...
I don't really care if he did or didn't have his hand over his heart for the pledge or for the national anthem or because of heartburn.....I'm not voting for him. Period. I have my reasons. I prefer not to discuss these reasons online though. I prefer to discuss them with my close friends and family...people that I can debate with face to face.
That is all.

Sooooo... why mention anything? Kinda confusing.
Anyway, I freely admit that I haven't been paying enough attention, but I'm feeling a little inspired to care lately. I can say that I am REALLY annoyed by all the Ron Paul crap, he's a jerk.
I had to check this morning as well. I AM an Obama Supporter and it's really good to see him get the support he deserves. I'd love to see him take New Hampshire as well, though I suspect that Hillary may do better there.
So, I agree, bootser :) Cool! :)
Obama seems like an admirable man with a lovely family. I can certainly see him representing this country well.
Although I will be voting Republcian, I would be satisfied with Obama in the White House, should he win.
Hillary, not so much. ![]()

How could you be happy for him? He refuses to put his hand over his heart or even say the Pledge of Allegiance. How un- American do you want a president?
He's said more than once that symbolic gestures do not equal true patriotism. Also, you're basing this on a single photo, which you can see here
If you scroll down, you'll see his reasons, and also two more photos that show him with his hand over his heart, so I guess he doesn't "refuse" to do it.

healthyhunt, your post put me in mind of something I would expect to hear on the Fox Network. Anyway I refer all readers here for a rebuttal of post #2.
Thanks for posting that link. I watched the video and all I can say is, maybe he was as horrifed as I was at that perfectly awful rendition of the National Anthem. Where do they find these singers? I followed the links to the Fact Check article and that cleared it up.
good for him!
he ran a great campaign, had excellent organization, and his message appealed to the voters and that's what determines elections, eh?
also, big congrats to Mike Huckabee who also won big in Iowa while spending a tee-tiny fraction of what his closest rival spent.
Yay voters!

OMG I was going to say the same thing. That was worse than the MadTV parody of Whitney Houston's rendition!
I personally lean more toward Edwards as well, but I would support an Obama ticket if he were the Dem nominee.
And the PoA thing- oh goodness. I'm at a loss when people judge another person's patriotism, and their ability to lead, based on a photo op.
I think you're more likely to see a Bloomberg/Hegel third party ticket and a Nader fourth party ticket than you are to see Gore enter the race. He's said he doesn't like politics and doesn't think he's good at it and he's working on the issue that means the most to him and he feels that his current work is the most important thing he could be doing. :) But I'm sure he appreciates your sentiment!
2 of these 3 draft Gore organizations have shut down
