Obese to Healthy in 4.5 Months
And now for the big news.....(drum roll)......I weighed in today at 149.6! I have officially gone from obese @ 181 (30.11) to healthy in about 4.5 months. -32 lbs. I am so proud of me. I was actually scared to step on the scale, but what a great start to my day. WoW. I am still in shock. Had to step on the scale 2 times to believe it. But the numbers were there: 149.6
I have gone from borderline obese to healthy in 4.5 months, and from a size 12 to a size 6. I would like to thank all of my wonderful friends who have read and responded to my sometimes too long journals, been a support and always encouraged me. And the people who have kept me entertained in the forums, even when we disagreed. Your wonderful advice made the difference between wanting it and being equipped with the knowledge to do it.
When I first got on here I hated my body and was disappointed in myself. Now I feel like I can accomplish anything If I have a plan. I have a healthy relationship with food and love myself more. But I couldn't have done it without you guys. You guys are awesome!
Taryn- I'm sooo happy for you!!! Congratulations!!! I know I did not do very well as you did in the Halloween Challenge but you sure have inspired me to do better!! :)
So glad to hear that. I want to start teaching fitness again, and set up a 50 million pound challenge group at my church :) I think that will help me to keep myself in line. 9.6 lbs to my final goal!
Wow. I do not know you personally, but from the bottom of my heart I congratulate you. That is an amazing feat and you must have really worked your plan and had great consistency and will power to reach your goals.
Losing that much weight in that little of time is such a wonderful accomplishment. You should be overjoyously proud of all of your hard work!!! Good luck maintaining and enjoying your new improved body!
Thanks!
I honestly think will power is over-rated sometimes. I had wanted to lose weight for a while before I got on here. So do people on fad diets. I think the difference is that I honestly learned how. And that is why I am really grateful for this site. I did have one 3 week plateau, but the advice I was given really helped.
Congratulations! And best of luck reaching 140!
That's amazing, congratulations!!
And I wanted to say it the other day but forgot, your puppy is adooorable!
Good job!!
Cello
CONGRATULATIONS! Healthy BMI! amazing!
I also agree with you about the will power thing - it really is learning how to lose that was instrumental.
Thanks everyone!
Best of luck for your goals too! I am here for whoever needs me. I love commenting in journals and I am not going anywhere, anytime soon!
You are an inspiration! Congratulations on such an awesome achievement. You are absolutely correct -- you can accomplish anything when you put your mind to it.
Great job!!!! ![]()
"Healthy" is one of those major milestones, dare I say even bigger than going from obese to just overweight. Huge (HUGE) congratulations to you for your amazing accomplishment, and best of luck in reaching your final goal!
Yeah..the two pounds before it were each a mile long and past annoying. I am just going to ease into the last 9 lbs. If it takes 3 months, so be it. :) I don't have to go into New Years with the same old resolution.
congratulations!!! i'm so inspired by you because my starting weight is about the same as yours, and i'm just on day 4 of my plan. it's starting to get easier but the first night was SO hard for me - i literally spent the whole night struggling and imagining the taste of the ice cream that's sitting in my freezer. i think we must be about the same height, because when i checked my bmi, i was super shocked that i'm actually straddling obesity! i've always been considered on the chunky side, but i never in a million years would have thought that i was almost obese. so that's more motivation to kick my butt into gear.
way to go and i'm so happy for you! :)
I don't want to go to new years with the same old "to lose weight" resolution! You are a big motivator to me too.

It is a big shocker to see (though I am glad I caught it when I did. There is a such catergory as morbidly obese).
