OBSESSED with sweets

Quote  |  Reply

i know that sugar makes you fat faster than fat does and its better to eat salty snacks than sweet ones, but for some reason whenever i pass up a sweet food and i choose a better choice, ill probably end up going for the sweet one in the end anyways. how can i stop craving sweets so much!!! like its actually an obsession!!!

example: i make AMAZING brownies so for all of my friends birthdays i make them a batch, but i always end up eating half of the batter or the brownies and theres not a lot left for them so i have to make two packs. how can i stop always needing sweets? because i always feel like crap after eating them but if i dont then i feel deprived!!!

 help me PLEASE!!!

thanks:)

I just got a chocolate craving and almond craving due to PMS too! What I would do is EAT the sweet....just keep it in a portion control. Take a bite and put the rest in the fridge or in the Zip lock bag. If you are the one who bake.....as I always do when I bake is to make it tiny!! They are actually really cute! You got a 1" brownies for all your friends and ONE piece for you so you wouldn't crave it that much.Laughing

If you will eat up the batter...just chew gum when you bake. I don't know if it would work but...you can try. (I just eat A WHOLE BUNCH of almond without counting too !! UGH!!!!Sealed)

eat a fruit/yogurt before you bake: it's sweet, but better than eating half the brownie batch (and u'll be less hungry if u do)

I'd suggest trying to go without sweets for just a day at a time, extending to 2 or 3.   Maybe promising yourself that you can have something a few days down the track will mean you don't feel so desperate/deprived short-term?  At the same time try to avoid other refined carbohydrates .... anything made with white flour or white rice, for example.... because these turn to sugar in the bloodstream almost as quickly as sugar.  Try to stick to more wholegrains and complex, high-fibre carbohydrates instead.

Don't make brownies any more if you know you eat the batter.... temptation is easier to resist if there's nothing to tempt you.   Best of luck

I am the same way. I love desert. It is my biggest weakness. The way I manage is I never allow myself desert except on Friday and maybe Sunday. I try for just Friday though but if I let myself I would eat it everyday. Stupid good food! Yell brownies, chocolate chip cookies, rice crispie treats, cake, pie, ho-ho's... I cannot have it in the house because I will go crazy.

i am EXACTLY the same way.

i might as well just eat the bad thing i wanted in the first place, cuz if i dont, i just eat a ton of others things, then eat that bad thing anyways!

i try things like take sugar free jello choc pudding, and mix it up with a bit of light creamcheese, its like a cheescake in a bowl

sugar free jello with a bit of light cool whip on top

fruit with yogurt and granola

peanut butter cookies made with splenda and some oats

i think you just have to be creative, some of us just LOVE our sweets!!

I feel your pain! I have tried to give up sweets so many times I have lost count :).My new favorite snack that taste sinfull but isn't at all is "healthier apple crisp" you can really do it with any fruit...I also like blackberries, you dice up 1/2 apple and microwave it for 1 min then in a seperate bowl mix 1/4 cup no sugar added instant oatmeal,( however my fav is maple and brown sugar) and a dash of 0 cal butter spray. Microwave that for about 20 sec and then crumble on top of your warm fruit then, my fave part add 1/2 breyers fat free vanilla! It it so sinfully delicious and it goes along way, if you want it to go further with just a few extra cals dice up the whole apple!

Also, if you do use apple I suggest a dash of apple pie spice on them as they cook.....YUMMY!! I usually prefer chocolate but this one gets me by and I feel like I am still somewhat on track.

The whole apple is 60 cals, my oatmeal is 45 or so I think and the ice cream is 90 so that is not bad at all for a VERY fillling desert with the whole apple!

Hope you enjoy!
