Obsessive hobbies, anyone? (Link to pics of mine)
Thought you guys might get a kick out of the post I made on a My Little Pony board. Yep, that's right, I collect My Little Pony items from the 80s. Not only do I collect them, I have an entire room of them. Here's a link to the pics I posted:

So, anyone else have any strange, obsessive hobbies that not many people understand? I know we've had hobby threads before, but I've not shared the extent of mine with pictures... :)
Oh...my....Lord.....GIRL....that is quite possibly the COOLEST thing I have ever seen!!!!
WOW. I feel happier just seeing the pictures! My God, you have a whole ROOM to go in if you're feeling blue....how could you not come out feeling happier??!!! It's like a rainbow EXPLODED in that room!! :oD
That is SO cool. *Still shaking my head here* And I only collect grapes. *GRIN*

I dont have any hobbies that are that obsessive. That is sooooo cool! I collect dolphins and coke items but Im not serious about it. Your room looks like so much fun!
WHOA........ I didn't even know this was possible...
I try to collect DVDs but I can't afford too many.I used to be rather obsessed with Clay Aiken discussion boards :) Until everyone else got a little TOO obsessed and started arguing over, like, how he should wear his hair during the next concert. Then I split. I do know a LOT of random trivia about him, though.
That is an incredible room.

I collect pint glasses. I've got about 80 of them right now, from all over the country. I've even got friends/family bringing them home for me when they go on trips.
Panda, my 8 year old self is in LOVE with your collection. That's impressive!

Yeah, people don't really get the full idea without seeing pics. When I say that I collect MLPs, I really mean it! It's taken me over 6 years to aquire all of those, so it's not an overnight thing.
Laurie - that's my favorite thing about the collection. Instant way to de-stress. How can you be even remotely stressed or grumpy when surrounded by that much plastic goodness? :)

Wow! ok, my wife is not allowed to read these forums... this is official now. If she saw that collection... Lord the ideas she would get.
So... ok... my terrible secret obsession.
Comic books.
Thats right a fat man that likes comics.. Strange indeed. I know we all envision those svelt musky jocks curled up to a good comic book, hording longboxes full of pristinely kept sealed comic books from their childhood, as well as their adult life.. but really fat men do it too ;-) (Im being sarcastic)
Truth is, I used to read them when i was a kid. I used to get a $1 a week allowance, which, at the local 7-11 bought me a comic, a soda, and a small handfull of candy. So... every Saturday, I would go and buy the comic with the coolest cover (the clerk wouldnt let me look through the books). Then, I would read it over and over all week. It would reside in my back pocket.. slide down dirt hills and on some occaisions end up in the creek with me.
Once I got the next weeks book, the musty deformed book would go on my shelf in my closet, and the new one would find it's home in my pocket. A few years ago, my parents sent some of my old stuff to me, included was a large box of comics. Seeing those deformed, ripped up, water stained, faded books brought it all back. I rushed out to a comic store to pick up some of my old favorites... I have been collecting ever since.
Sad, I know.. but we all have our little things we hang onto.

Panda, that is the coolest thing ever! I only have about 6 my little ponies from when I was a kid. I wish I had collected more! I love the ones that smelt good. the ones you buy these days are pretty crud compared to the ones you used to get.
Nice pics! hahaha
Nice pics! hahaha
Wow, that is great. Lots of dusting thou.
*sigh*
men and their comic books. My boyfriend has a huge collection of superman comics all in their plastic covers which I am absolutely not allowed to touch. (so what if I destroy everything that comes within a 2m radius of myself?)

Excuse my geekdom.. but is it just me... or is there something really hot about a woman who wants to read comics ;-)
Perhaps for you :) It's modern physics for me. Seriously... I like educated woman, but there's something seriously hawt about a woman who wants to talk about string theory or M-Space :D
ak!
I have been outgeeked! You sir.. win.
