The other day I was noticing my skin on my face was a little oily and dirty. So when I took my daily shower I began scrubing it with a towel and some ax soap. And scrubing and scrubbing and scrubbing and. . .well you get the picture. I did this for ten minutes until, what do you know? My pores started bleeding. Now 5 days later my skin is scabbed up and scalely. I thought the prozac was supposed to help with this? All I can tell is that it sucks.
yes it does suck.
my sister had a very severe case of OCD, so severe that coupled with depression she was suicidal.
I remember so vividly, once I accidently spit on her while I was brushing my teeth in a hotel room in Paris, and she pushed me out, and locked me out of our hotel room for hours, while she scrubbed and performed rituals that would make her 'clean.' She was raw looking when our parents forced her to let me back in hours later.
Once, I was angry ( I regret this of course) and tired of having to deal with her ****, her cleanly obsession, and I took a sip of her drink. She literally came at me with a knife.
She would walk down hallways and roads hours on end, going back to the beggining every time she would accidentally step on a crack. She would scratch her skin to the point of scabs and blood all over her legs.
She would dump hand sanitizer over her laptop at school, and stay up all night making sure her hands were clean.
She suffered, but I'm so happy to say she is now fully recovered. She doesn't even carry around hand sanitizer anymore and is much, much happier. She saw a good therapist who helped her, and with some strength overcame it all. She was on a lot of medications, but prozac (which she is still on) helped her most. May I suggest speaking with your pysch to try a new medication? Also, how long have you been on it? Sometimes it takes a while before it starts to work.
Lastly, Prozac won't solve your problems, it can only help you help yourself.
My sister overcame her problems and I know you will too.
Stay strong, I wish you all the luck in the world.
Sorry to hear you are having a bad time. You might want to see your Dr. if the medication is not working. Fish oil and inositol have been show to work very well for people with OCD. I do not recommend you try these without first talking to your Dr. I don't know how they would work with your medication but something you might want to read up on. I find that lack of sleep and stress exaggerate my OCD symptoms. I clean and check. The more rested I am the better it is. Are you getting enough sleep, eating enough?

I have the trifecta. OCD plus Insomnia plus Anorexia. They're all interelated as you might have guessed and each one causes the other one to get worse. I also have depression. Fun life, I know.
