This morning I packed my gym bag to head to the gym after work. Trying to get back on the diet thing. Again. Now that it's almost time to go I'm dreading the gym and trying to talk myself out of it. Maybe if I just stay long enough to work off 200 calories......
So, I need some motivation from anyone else who is going to the gym tonight!
Go. You'll feel amazing afterwards, and not feel guilty about eating a piece of chocolate. Plus you won't be kicking yourself the whole night for not going.
I just got back from the gym! Lucky I have one at work tho, and I can go down there during my lunch hour, or in 15 minute sessions at a time. My legs feel so good and warm inside. It seriously wakes you up and curbes your appetite.
If you're just starting out, I wouldn't focus too much on how many calories youre burning. Just worry about your speed, time, distance, etc. Work it up girl! Don't burn out so easily :) Take it easy and make a work out goal and prize for yourself.
When I don't feel like going I promise myself just 20 minutes, after that I can quit and go home....9 times out of 10 I stay for my full workout and feel great.
I MAKE myself do it even if I don't want to! LOL I play the dread game 9 times out of 10.....but every time I play that game, I feel THAT MUCH better about working it!! haha
I HATE running....but I'm giong to run for an hour tonight! I must LOL! Good luck
OK - I went. I only did the cross trainer for about 20 minutes. Pathetic. But considering that I didn't want to go at all.......and I burned 200 calories. I guess it's better than nothing???
I just came back from an hour's fast walk and feel great, but i fought with myself all the way to the beach. Yes No Yes no.
I was rewarded for my hard work by a magnificent sunset, I watched go all the way down.
You can do it I think getting there is a large part of the work.
Make sure that you're workout is timed for you. What I mean is, if you're just picking a time of day just because of convenience, you might not be as motivated than if you pick a time when you know you're awake and motivated.
I know that between 3 and 4 o clock I'm usually really wiped. I usually do my workouts (not at a gym, except for the climbing gym) at 7pm, after I've had time for dinner and a chance to relax. I also like doing a quick run or walk in the mornings or on my lunch breaks at work. Make exercise work for you, not you for it.
on those days, i think "some is better than none." basically, i give myself at least 20 minutes there. if 20 minutes later i'm not feeling the gym at all and feel so tired i can't stay on elliptical or w/e any longer, i get off, say "good work," and move on. not everyday is going to go as planned, and if you really are tired, there's no point in tiring yourself out too much and not want ot go for the next 3 days. =)
