Quote  |  Reply

This is a challenge for those of us wanting to get rid of the last 20 lbs by Valentine's Day.

I'll keep it open unless there gets to be too many to keep up with.  I'm just asking you EDIT YOUR FIRST POST WITH YOUR UPDATES so it's easier to keep track of everyone.

Thanks and good luck!!!

Also, feel free to post a comment at the end of the weight loss posts.  If you have a question, suggestion, frustration, idea, whatever!  I'm open to hear it all!!! And it will keep the challenge bumped too! Smile

You can copy and paste this to post your stats and weekly weight if you want.

I had surgery on my L5-S1 in '99 and the pain never left. Now the L4-5 and L5-S1 are crumbling and very painful.  The nerves are now damaged, hence, the leg pain!  I'm detremined to get rid of this weight no matter how long it takes me and how many set backs I have bc of my back.

Youchy! It's really inspirational to see you doing what you can! :0 Were you walking outside? I imagine it's pretty cold outside too...

I've been playing around with treadmills recently, and I've started doing a walk/jog combo on it instead of doing my usual cardio workout videos. It's kind of a nice change, but my legs are REALLY sore. ;~; Could it be that I'm not stretching enough, maybe? I dunno. I'm doing resistance training and eating roughly 1800-2000 calories a day.

What time do you guys workout? I like working out at 12PM, that way I get it in before I have any social commitments, and I gave myself some time to kind of "wake up" in the morning before I'm trying to perform some heart-pumping cardio. XD

hi! I'm in, here are my stats:

I often fall from the wagon so my weight loss is happening at turtle speed so I want to be more commited.

I workout anytime.  I don't have any set time.  It's just when I feel up to it. And sometimes I exercise alittle at a time all through the day.  :)

It was really warm outside today.  A record setting 70* in PA!  I even had the doors open for some fresh air to circulate through the house.  It's suppose to be another warm day tomorrow too!  :)

UNLIMITEDANA ~  We are here to help you in any way we can and try to keep you motivated to lose!  I lose like a turtle too!  Mostly because my exercising isn't consistent.  Good Luck!

Do you all think that maybe 20 pounds is alot to go for in 6 weeks and 4 days?  Maybe I shoulda said 15 lbs by Valentine's Day!  Well, however much you wanna lose, is fine!

I have to work out first thing in the morning, otherwise it doesn't happen.  My husband is deployed and I homeschool 3 little ones so, not a lot of time during the day!  Childcare at the gym opens at 8 so I like to be there at that time but I have not been good about it lately.

I would love to lose 20 by Valentine's Day, that is just about the time my husband is coming home.  I would not be unhappy if I lost 15...or 10, really.  Just having a goal and support is the main thing, I think.

20 is a lot, and a liiiittle bit unrealistic amount to lose in 6 weeks & 4 days, but it's something to strive towards. I think If I went anywhere under 130 right now, I'd be so happy. XD The challenge and the support that comes with it is what I was looking for.. oh well if I get close but don't lose that much.. atleast I'll be so much closer to my goal at the end of this, right?

Okay, another question for y'all: Let's say you're living with your parents. They buy a HUGE bowl of delicious, shiny candy and put the bowl on a coffee table in the middle of the living room. First thing that catches your eye when you walk through the living room to get to the kitchen is the candy. Would you be embaressed to say to your parents "Hey, your candy is tempting me too much, please put it else where?" @_@

I put that 20 pound goal in CC and it came back with a warning message.  It said that 20 pounds by Valentine's Day is too much.  So I readjusted my time for losing the 20 pounds to March 6th, which is what CC recommended.   Anything I lose by Valentine's Day will be a real treat.  And if I lose it by March 6th instead of Valentine's Day, so be it.

Have a great day everyone and I'll see you here on Monday for my first weighin.  I'm really excited to get started.

I would remove it myself & tell them (while laughing so they aren't offended), that that was a "nice trick" they were trying to pull, but that I passed the first test by removing temptation. That way no one is upset & hopefully they will be more conscientious of their actions as well.

a_vila: i am so impressed by you.. your schedule is amazing... great job!!!

Tammy and Supreet, thank you for the comments ... you guys made me blush ... EmbarassedLaughing

SW (end 2006): 181

SW (of this challenge): 136

GW: 126

29/12/08: 132 - on track, back to healthy eating and working out at the gym.

5/01/09: 134 - so dissappointed, its been a really bad week.  Today is a new start, going to plan all my meals for the week and get back on track.

12/01/09: 134 - exercising more, eating better but no change.  I was 132 during the week, so up and down - getting frustrated.  The last 10 pounds are so hard to lose.

19/01/09: 132 - finally back to 132, why is it so easy to put back on and so hard to lose?  Would love to be 130 next week!

26/01/09: 132.9 - hoping its just another plateau.  Im doing more weights, exercising more and eating better.  Maybe im not meant to go much lower?

2/2/09: 132.4 - I will take the .5 of a pound.  It is still a loss.  Been 40-45C all week, making exercise very hard.

Good luck everyone and keep up the good work

Tomorrow is weigh in!!!  I am so ready!

BTW, I realised AFTER I said 20 pounds, that is a liiiiitle ambitious!  I said in a previous post that whatever you want to use as a weight loss goal is fine. And maybe I should've said 15 pounds! LOL   The last weigh in will be February 13th.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!

There are 13 of us here.  I hope we all stick this out and achieve our goal.  If you only lose 1 pound, that's less than where you started.

You should always be proud of your achivements, no matter how big or small. Wink

Don't give up!!!!  Be proud!!!!!  Be strong!!!!!  Lets kick this in the behind!!!!!

Count me in too!! I haven't done a challenge in a while - I think it is just what I need to get back on track!

SW: 185

Challenge SW: 145.5

GW: 135

I was down to 140 before Thanksgiving! Ooops! Too much yummy food and not enough movement. Got to get my willpower back and get to work.

Good Luck Everyone!

*takes out cattle prod stick*

Come on Ladies, keep moving, burn off all those holiday treats.

What? I'm just trying to help.

buggyhair - You're a freakin' genius! +0+ I was inspired by you to moved the candy bowl to a side table where I would not see the candy bowl first thing when I pass by, and my temptation has gone.. mostly away (When I get the room for it, boy do I love indulging in chocolaaate~!) My parental units (err parents) said nothing about it, and later hid the candy bowl when they saw I was bringing over friends. (Three teenage girls + Chocolate bowl seems like a very bad idea to them.)

s'ankyew.

Wheee~, one obstacle down, many more to go, haha.

*tips hat* Glad to be of help.

Yup, Christmas did NOT go well.  My weight is now up than before Thanksgiving. Frown  SOOOO discouraged.  Really trying to get back on track, but I have sales lunches everyday this week, plus New Years eve.

I could really use motivation to stay away from the sweets, or maybe alternatives?  I CRAVE something sweet after a meal and I cannot do it anymore.  For this challenge I definitely need to cut the sweets and although I don't like to do it, I may have to go no carb.

Monday Weigh In:

SW (Thanksgiving): 172

CW: 174 UGH!

GW: 155

I want to do this.  I stopped trying to lose weight in August after my mother passed away and need to get back on track this year.  I'll do starting weight tomorrow a.m.
