How often do you pee?

Quote  |  Reply

I've recently upped my water intake significantly. As in, I used to hardly drink any, and now I'm drinking 2-3 liters a day. The only problem is I seem to be going to the bathroom every 30 minutes or so!

A few days ago I thought I was getting a UTI, so I started with cranberry juice and increased the water again (I'd stopped drinking so much because I was tired of going to the bathroom!). Now all of the UTI symptoms are gone except for the constant bathroom trips. It's not a false sense of having to go, since everything it seems my bladder is full, but I'm just concerned about how often I'm going.

So I suppose my question is: How often do you pee? If you didn't drink a lot of water and then started to like me, did you go a lot more than normal? Since it doesn't hurt/is clear I really don't want to waste my time going to the doctor.

Thanks!

I pee about 3 to 4 times an HOUR! Yea, an HOUR but that is because I drink a lot! And all this peeing does not typically start until AFTER 1pm when I actually start drinking a lot more!

YES, this is TRUE, SO TRUE, I have been recently told by my dr. to UP my water intake, I was not and urinating a-lot, literally like two maybe three times from 7:00am to aprox, 10:00pm, my DR was horrified, he said this is un-natural and a healthy person getting the proper water in-take should be going to the loo, at least every 3-4 hours AT the VERY LEAST.  If you are consumming the recommend amounts of water, you may go to the washroom every two hours, which not be out of the ordinary, and this will keep UTI'S away too, and apple cidar vinigar is good too and baking soda, if this problem does arise.  However, when I started my regiment after experiencing uethera discomfort and was told to NOW in-take more water and start using my kidney's more and clearing my system out, well, let me tell you .......I HEAR YOU ALL!  I think I seriously thought about just wearing depends, because it just depended on how fast I could get me ass to the LOO!!!!!!  So I was ANNOYED with this, because we are so use to not paying attention to our bodies due to jobs, stress, hobbies, etc....that we think urinating every two hours is a BOTHER!  In fact, you will fill better and yes apparently it does sub-side after you get your toxins flushed and body use of this.  It is HORRIBLE though I hear you I thought I was like going to loose it, literally I would urinate, and then literally feel my bladder start to fill, and like almost automatically I would feel the urge to urinate.  ERRRRRR  Relieved to know I am not the only one, I was almost scared that I had like over active bladder or something, some people are like, I drink and drink and never urinate, well apparently we, all are not those people! LOL haaaaLaughing

I also wanted to add, that I have been told that once you start drinking lots of water, that it almost stresses the bladder a-bit, I literally felt like I had a UTI after I started drinking a-lot and that is ANNOYING......so probably is such a thing is drinking it to quickly and to much at once perhaps?????

When you increase your fluids, it can take awhile for your body to catch up.  Soon it should decrease.

The only time its a problem is if you are also constantly thirsty...polydipsia can be a symptom of diabetes.

If you've recently increased your water intake, the constant trips to the bathroom are normal, haha! But you should still continue to drink plenty of water - your body will get used to it eventually and you won't have to go so often (such was the case with me). :) Best of luck!

As said, it's your body catching up. When I significantly increased my water intake I was peeing nearly every half hour! It'll pass. Well. It's passing already, but you get the idea. ;P

quite a lot of fluids from your food and 1 or 2 litres extra fluids is enough for most people.  Drink more if you're thirsty, doing a lot of exercise or if you're in a hot environment but don't feel that you have to keep chugging down the water all the time just for the sake of it.  You might find this story from April about a study done by the University of Pennsylvania quite interesting.

i pee around 15-30 times a day. it depends on my water intake. everytime i drink water, after about 20 mins, i always feel the need to pee. i just love water so much, that i drink around 10 glasses a day.

lol wayy to often, once an hour??

it can vary on a person and their bladder, there's no 'normal'
