How often do you weigh?

Quote  |  Reply
I decided last week that I would only weigh myself on Sundays so that I didn't get depressed (or too optimistic) during the week.  Its only Thursday, and I feel like its been a month since I last weighed myself.  How often do you weigh yourself and how do you keep yourself off the scale the rest of the time?

Once in the morning and once at night every single day
i weigh myself in the morning everyday...
EVERYDAY!!!! I want to know where I am.. and I dont want the adverse affect and find out 5 days later that I needed to buckle down more...
I like to weigh myself every day, usually at night, to keep tabs on my constant weight loss/weight gain and fluctuation. I like to compare my weight in the morning to the weight that the scale comes up with at night, but from now on I'll only be weighing myself every Monday morning.

I heard it's unhealthy to weigh every day. I am probably going to only weigh once a week. I don't even have a scale at home! The lady I babysit for has got one, though, so I think I will start using it. I don't want to know what each day says. The daily natural fluctuation's you'll go through shouldn't be presented to you. It's only discouraging in my eyes.

My plan is to start weighing once a week and each month take new photos of me in just my underwear and bra. I'd rather have a visual of my progress than just a number. Not to mention, the photos serve for great motivation.

I took my first set today, and boy did I realize what I've done to myself. I am now keeping a daily journal of my eating habits, and I plan to include inspirational pictures and quotes, and those horrid pictures of me stripped down to keep me going.

Hopefully a year from now I will be able to compare the past and present, and have something to look at and be proud of!

#1.  I get on the scale 5 or 6 times a day every day.

#2.  I don't.
Once a week only, Friday mornings, first thing after bathroom (former obsessive weigher, nothing good comes of it for me, hard lesson learned).
honestly? Anytime in my bathroom - so about 3 times a day, but what counts is my weight on friday morning. I just like to keep check
ah -- how the scale can lie to us and mess with our minds....

i weight myself every monday morning, before i eat breakfast and with light clothes on or no clothes a all;)....lol.....
I weigh myself everyday in undies but I am trying to get away from that because I find it very depressing sometimes. I know they are just numbers but I think it would be better for me mentally not to weigh myself every morning and evening. So hard to change this habit besides tossing the scale out the window alltogether.
i weigh myself every saturday- otherwise i get too depressed at the fluctuations.
Every 15 seconds.
last summer i only weight myself 2 pr 3 times, i find it easier to just stick to the plan and you my best.

I don't weigh myself at all since for me the scale is a trigger for my anorexia. So I go by how well my clothes fit, how my exercise feels, my times on my runs--that sort of stuff.

For some reason, I can count calories. I can't count pounds or the monster starts whispering.

Just figured I'd throw out a different point of view :-)
I officially weigh in and log that weight every Friday.  I have a scale at home that I weight every day, but I used the scale I started this journey on for my official results.

Every couple of weeks. If I'm not focused upon my weight so much as my health and the way my clothes fit, then only a few times a year.

Scales are depressing. I avoid them whenever possible.

I weigh on Mondays and it does not occur to me to check in between.   I know that as long as I stay on track with calorie intake and exercise, I will lose.
I totally agree with kay_h because i weight every wednesday morning on the same scale the same time b4 i eat anything at around 7:00am at work. there is no need to weigh daily because your weight fluctuates so much day to day. also it can be depressing but if you wait and do it the same time, same day, once a week it would be better and more accuate. it works and like she said as long as you are staying at what your calorie intake should be you will loose. i have been doing this now since the end of july and i have lost 11.2 lbs. yes the .2 counts! it means alot! lol!
You should only weigh yourself once a week. I tried doing that, but the curiousity always wins out. :P So I tend to do it every morning. Probably the best time to do so.
