How Often Should I Weigh Myself?

Quote  |  Reply
I was just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of how many times a week i should weigh myself? I have been weighing myself everyday but my fiance says that i shouldn't because should i start gaining weight it may depress me and throw me off the diet. I just feel better weighing in everyday. Input please!!!!!!!! Smile

I weigh myself every time I go to the gym, which works out to almost every day. (No scale in the house!) For me, it has helped to be able to track my body's pattern of losing the weight.  (36.5 pounds since October.)  What I have noticed is that I will weigh within the same 1-2 pounds for a couple of weeks, then suddenly it goes down 3-4 pounds, seemingly overnight.  If I have been eating well and working out frequently, I know that there is something else going on when the number goes up instead of down.

The day after I decided to treat myself to Chipotle, I was 4 pounds heavier the next day.  There's a LOT of sodium in that stuff!!

Like everyone else has said, it's all about what works for you!

I weigh myself every time I go to the gym, which is almost every day. But I'm comfortable with the fact that my weight will shift within a three/four pound range, and long as it's not above the top of that range, I don't worry about it. It helps to keep me on track.

I wish I could handle the every day thing, I am a little to obsessive to make it work.

I snuck out the scale this morning. I was up two lbs from my regular weekly weigh-in on Monday. Eeeeks!! No panic. It's all good (I think to myself, panicking). I quickly put it back, under the stack of blankets in the hall closet where it lives now, and felt vaguely guilty for my lapse. Must remember: Scale bad. Sherylyn good. I have eaten very well this week and been to the gym twice, tonight will make it three times, and that's what's important. The numbers will come.

It's more important to be happy :)) forreal if it makes you that upset to see your weight go up u shouldn't every day.

I weigh myself everyday and lately I've been ok no matter what it is because at least its lower than it used to be ~_^ lol. I dunno if thinking about it like that will help u or not but it helped me.

what works for everyone else though might not be right for you. Don't do it just because everyone else is do what works the best for you. and GL
