How often do you weigh... 3 times in 5 mins? 2 times in 1 minute?

Just curious....

Standing in the same position with the scales on the same surface I can get different readings. Admittedly the difference is only 0.25lbs, but hey! ;)

What I wonder is..... When you weigh. Do you re-weight staright after or leave for 5 mins before checking again, and then take the lower weight of them :)

If it were me I would get a more reliable scale :) and then stand on it only once at around the same time each day
if you have a digital scale check your battery sounds like its getting weak or like the other poster said get a more reliable scale..
I usually weigh myself twice in a row, if I get two different readings I know that my scale needs new batteries.
Just out of curiosity - why are you weighing so often (other than the battery is low)?  I don't bother more than once per week.  I don't want to obsess over a few pounds or fractions of a pound.  But it does upset me to think what that scale says is more important than how you feel or how your body is changing with diet and exercise.  I'm not trying to be rude, just concerned.
Usually once in the morning, right after waking up, and once in the evening, right before going to bed.

While my scale can give different readings, I just go with the first one that shows =)
well, when I weigh, I step on,step off, step on again and it *should* be the same number (like within half a lb) and if it isnt I step on again and see which was right. Im too poor to buy a good scale!
Like ravenlark.  I weigh twice in a row and if the weights differ I know my scales battery is running low.

bsmshilltop, I think it makes sense to weigh daily.  I do, and I track it.  That way I know if a weight difference is just a one day fluctuation due to holding water or an actual trend.

For example, my weigh chart might look like:
  • S -172
  • S - 172
  • M - 170
  • T - 172
  • W - 171
  • R - 172
  • F - 172
  • S - 170
  • S - 172
  • M -174
  • T - 172
  • W -172
If I track my weight daily I can pretty much know that my weight is stable at around 172, whereas if I only weigh only one day a week - say Mondays - then I'd be freaking that I gained 4 pounds in one week!
bbnomo - I see what you mean.  But there is little to no difference between a 3 to 4 pound fluxuation in weight.  It is possible to weigh up to 3 pounds more at night than you did when you got up.  I just think this repetative behavior could develop into obsessive behavior very easily.  This could cause much more harm than finding out you gained 4 pounds in a week.  Obsessiveness does not happen overnight.   It is important to keep your mind healty as well.
