I'm wondering how often is best to weigh yourself. I've been weighing myself every morning, which is great when I'm losing. However, once in a while, my weight will go up slightly, and it can really bum me out. I realize it's probably just water, but it's still kind of discouraging.
I'm wondering if once a week would be better to keep track of the big picture, or if every day would be better to keep myself on track on monitor progess.
Any thoughts?
Weighing myself everyday frustrates me lol. However, I always like to know what is going on with my weight just to make sure that I'm not gaining weight. I weigh myself twice a week (every Sun and Wed) that way Im not weighing myself too much or too little

I weigh myself about four times a week. I don't have a scale at home and I come to work at 7am four days a week. So, whenever I get here that early I hop on the scale here. I would weigh myself much more if I had a scale at home (which is why I won't buy one). I think it's fine to weigh yourself daily as long as you don't get too upset by a flucuation of a few pounds. I also keep a running tally of my loss by week in my journal - because it feels good to type it!
I weight myself once a week on Fridays. That keeps me on track & if I did bad over the weekend. I have a couple of days to work hard before I weight myself.

The ridiculous thing is sometimes it works and reads 1/2 pound lighter. lol
I weigh myself several times a day. I like to see the changes when I go to the bathroom, eat or exercise. I know they don't mean much, it's only the trend over time that is significant, but it's entertaining.
Yes, I have scooted my scale all around on my bathroom floor. Unfortunately, I now know the optimal placement for the lowest weight, so it no longer helps -- lol.
once a day, usually just before lunch, when i'm hungry. if i don't get on the scale every day, it's because i'm misbehaving and don't want to see the bad news. in the spring i avoided the scale for a month and gained eight pounds.
Every morning, because the scale is there, and its looking at me saying c'mon do it. hehe. But the only number that counts is the Sunday morning one...
I just like keeping track because as previous posts mentioned, when the scale goes up, it motivates me that much more to either be careful of what's going in my mouth, or exercise that much harder.
I started once a week, but that wasn't working for me. I like to see results of my hard work immediately! I get on every morning after I use the bathroom. I do this to help with unhealthy/bad habits. If the scale goes up a bit I think about what I did or didn't do the day before and know not to do that any more. Also, I am a very competative person (even with myself) and since starting this have only seen the scale go up on a few occasions. It just makes me work that much harder! Everyone is different though.

I try to weigh myself every morning before I eat anything. It doesn't always work out but it forces me to stay aware of my weight. I need to be more compulsive about this whole issue than I am.
By the way, it's not "I weight myself"; it's "I weigh myself"! And while I'm nitpicking I'll add it's not "loosing weight", its "losing weight".

I weigh myself every day... every day AND evening if I get really obsessive. And the other day I had a NIGHTMARE that I gained 7 lbs, and then I was like.. WOW I really have to stop with the daily weighing, yikes!

LOL!!!! YES!!!!!!!!! I sure do, but see I don't do it to make it lighter (i have a digital scale) I do it to make sure it's not reading too low. LOL that way I'm not getting a false reading and sometimes it actually DOES read lighter. Then I shake it again and get the same weight as the second time. (((Heart))) aww I don't feel so bad LOL
I hate my scale but I visit it all the time...some day once or twice other days I put a towel over it...
I do have days where when ever I'm in the damn bathroom i jump on the scale.
This is the 1st time in almost 4 years that I own a scale.... thinking about donating it to Goodwill....but then i might go insane not knowing....
