How often do you weigh yourself?
And how often SHOULD one weigh themself?
I don't know how often one SHOULD weight themselves but I weigh myself every morning before my shower and my coffee. I feel like I need to know if I should pat myself on the back or kick myself in the rear...it's a motivational thing.
I don't know about should... I think it's as often as you feel comfortable with, knowing that fluctuations from day to day can be caused by water weight, etc.
Personally, I weigh every morning. I feel that it keeps me accountable and away from binging on things that might make for spikes in that number on the scale. And honestly? I really like weighing in every morning, I actually look forward to it. What can I say, I just love seeing those numbers decrease.
I weigh everyday, but only write down the weight on Monday mornings (kind of depressing when you have a bad weekend....)
Weighing too often and believing everything you see can, and will, drive you batty. Read this article for more information on Why the Scale Lies.
I think once a week is good, but sometimes I do more.. especially the day or two before "weigh in" to see if I need to step it up a notch or not..
I was told by my therapist who has been through Weight Watchers that you should only weigh once a week on the day that you started the diet. Best way to weigh is nakie and after you have gone to the bathroom.
I weight every morning (just like the girls above) but I keep a mental log and then average it out at the end of the week (since weight can fluctuate according to the day) this way I know approx how much I lost/gained that week and dont just base it on a "good" day or "bad" day which can be deceiving sometimes.
Every morning, after a pee and before a shower. You have to realize that the scale fluctuates every day though.
Should really depends on what you feel is right for you.
There is what some people consider to be weighing yourself too much, I guess they might classify that as a type of disorder? But just because other people think that doesn't mean what you do is wrong or right.
Weigh yourself as many times as you feel necessary.
I can go from not weighing myself for a couple days to weighing myself five times a day, it just depends how I'm feeling.
As much as I would love to be able to fight the urge to weigh everyday...I can't. I do every morning after I pee before I work out. I have seen a patten that I always weigh 1 lb more after my work out. I drink a full bottle of water while working out so I figure thats the reason.
In either case, I am an every day person but realize the fluctuations and don't get obsessed with it.
