How often do you weigh yourself? Different books, websites, etc recommend different ideas. One says weigh daily, so you can keep on top of the weight that creeps up. Others say weigh once a week, so you don't become obsessive. Also, what time of day, etc.? I think I have become obsessive about it, and am driving myself to frustration!
Thanks!
Thanks!
once a week, Sunday morning after i pee. also if i can find it i measure waist size and such, as i lift too so if i gain weight but loose actual size its all good.
Saturday or Sunday morning after I pee and get up. Once a week, every day, once a month. I've done it all. This month I am protesting the scale and stuck it in my closet. Soooo I dont know my weight :) But not playing the scale game has been refreshing. I suggest everyone try it once.
Do what you feel comfortable with.

I weigh every morning, after I pee but before I eat. It might sound like I'm obsessive, but it helps me see what my normal "range" is, as far as what I lose and gain from water weight.
I am soooooooooo obsessive about weighing myself!!!! I weigh myself daily and sometimes 2 or 3 times a day!!!!!!!
I weigh myself about once a month. I don't think my scale at home works very well, because it will say I weigh 10-15 lbs more one minute, then 8 lbs less the second time I step on it. So I weigh myself at the doctor's office about once a month.
Usually 2x's a day, but I only count Sat morn. The rest is just my OCD showing.
Twice a day (at minimum) but I only record once when I wake up. The one I record is when I wake up and the second is a minute before I go to bed.
like once a month. if even that.
we don't own a scale, so I can only weigh myself like at the doctor's office, or a relative's house or something.

I do it first thing in the morning, after I pee, and then take my average for the week on Saturday morning because I go up and down depending on water retention. I always wear the same thing when I weigh, and I usually do it at the same time every morning. That might not be the right way to do it, I might need to just take my Saturday weight but I like to average everything in and then compare my weights from the previous weeks. I never thought of averaging the month, I might do that tonight!
I sometimes weight myself several times throughout the day just out of curiousity to see how much I go up and down, but my morning weight is the only one I count. So don't feel obsessed about it, I just call it "curiousity," hehe :)

I'm obsessive about weighing myself...i do it almost every day. I know it's a bad habit, but I can't break it.
I weigh myself every morning, first thing.
I weigh myself every month or so. I try not to obssess about it and make what I weigh an issue. If I'd weigh myself daily I know I'd become tremendously compulsive. So, I eyeball it just by looking at my body.... and it's worked that way.
Now do any of you know what is the best type of scale to use... I know there are some that can actually calcualate BMI and stuff?
Every day. I am also obsessd with my weight.
At most twice a week. Otherwise, once a week. I weighed myself twice a week for only one week over the past month-and-a-half or so. Weekly's the way to go. More than that and you're nuts.
I don't like to weigh myself...I feel so useless if I weigh myself and see that I'm not getting to my goal..I probably weigh myself once a month or so.
i weigh myself maybe every day.. i do this once in the morning and onec
at night. however, ive heard from most people that its better to weigh
yourself once a week, just so you dont get obsessive and meticulous.
When I'm on a diet, I weigh myself everyday (although it can be frustrating!).
I read a journal article that said that people who weigh themselves every day weigh less, on average, than people who don't.

You generally weigh less in the morning.
So on days when I need an "upper" to make myself feel better, I weigh myself in the morning.
On days I want to beat myself down for motivation, like "COME ON YOU NEED TO DO MORE!", I measure at night.
But... as for how often, I think whatever works for you. Depends on your personality type... I guess.

i step on the ol'scale every morning and have been tracking my progess in an excel spread sheet since may 20th of this year.
that's not obsessive, right?
and kasumi, you're supposed to weight yourself in the morning because that is the most reliable and consistant weight you will get.
