OK long story short, on the way home from the doctors with my youngest son ( 9) he wanted McDonald's since he hasn't eaten in 3 days I said ok, ( He has a virus, high fever no other symptoms) We pull up I go in and get his meal, Cheeseburger happy meal ~only bun and cheese ( he hates meat)  apples and milk, when I get to the car they put fries and apples in his happy meal, and without thinking I ate them! I feel incredibly guilty, I hate to cheat, I am sure it had to do with the lack of sleep I have had since he has been sick, but how do I get over this I am so mad at myself!!! Then I looked up the calories 230! OMG, I am so bummed right now!

I know how you feel!  I had a bad weekend also.  My wife and I had some freinds over for cards, drinks, and every food wrong for my diet.

But just think of it as only 230 cal.  I now it's the wrong kind of cals but every one strays at one point and time.  Don't get discouraged and beat yourself up to much you didn't eat 2 double cheesesburgers, fries and a milkshake.  Just get back on the wagon and move on.

good luck!!!
Carolanne do some exercise that will make those calories obsolete. My 1/2 hour ab dvd burns 321 calories.... then dont look at it as cheating... but an excuse to build a little more muscle.
230 is not enough to gain, just call it a maintenence day!
At least it was kiddy-sized... it could have been worse- it could have been a large!  What kind of life would it be if you never got to have any 'bad food' at all?  That is how people end up binging on bad foods... a little bit here and there helps you stay in control.
look at it this way too:  230 calories.. that's lunch or 2 snacks.. (for me anyway) just don't do your regular snacks and you're still in your caloire limit for the day.. :)  also, never ever ever think of any food as off limits.. as jillybeansalad said that's how you'll end up binging!  just make sure to work them into your calories for the day and you'll be fine.. :)
It's less than a latte.  Less than a Snickers bar.  About a can of Coke.... Don't worry, don't punish yourself.  I'm a total fry addict.  I save those 230 calories about twice a week and go have myself some fries.  Other than the sodium.... why worry?  Would I rather have had a baked potato?  HELL no.
CarolAnne - I'm sitting here wishing that a little bag of FF was all I ate the other day.....don't sweat it....you probably 'worked' it off guilting yourself about it.
I have so done that!!  Ate something without even realizing I was doing it!!  At least they only put the small size in there!!  In the end, one small order of fries will do you no harm!  Keep on going!!
I would just count it in my daily allowance. and forgo something else!! that was not too bad... I love french fries thry are pretty hard to resist.  every once in a I have to have them.  I usually get frozen orida ones and look for the ones with the least amount of fat and calories.
thanks everyone, I guess I am just stressed, sick kid, hubby out of town, thanks for all the support!
Carolanne,  Is your son doing better?
he is happier but still has a fever of 101.

Can't seem to shake it, thanks for asking!
