So.... the other day I made a very exciting purchase- I got a bread machine for $3.50 at goodwill.  I was really excited to try it so I made banana bread in it last night and ended up eating almost the whole loaf... I knew it wasn't good but I just typed the ingredients in the recipe analyzer and it is 2200 CALORIES!!!!!  I ATE LIKE 1500-2000 EXTRA CALORIES LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!  Plus I am going on vacation next week- more extra calories.  I am freaking out!!!  Just wanted to vent, I feel like I am letting myself go and don't know what to do.  :(

Just a suggestion, next time you eat something different like that look up the calories before you eat it some you can get the proportions right.  A Healthy Lifestyle is a life long learning experience, don't give up the journey.
Bread and cheese are the devil! D:

God I love them both so much. Especially Olive Garden bread sticks, man. I would actually eat something like 3 baskets (4 breadsticks per basket!) in a single sitting, IN ADDITION to my meal! To make it worse, I would dip the bread into alfredo sauce! God.. no wonder I was gaining!

Each breadstick is 140 calories!

Bread is soooo high in calories, it's like insane. I keep that kinda stuff out of my house. My house only has low-cal, low-fat stuff (with a small stash of chocolate turtles, in case I crave something like that -- 2 turtles=160 calories, 2g fat. Not that bad, considering other options) because I have no will power, when it comes to bread and cheese.

One day won't hurt. Just don't make a habit of it, you know?

Advise: Make some bread. Let your roommate/SO/family/friends eat most of it. Take a small pinch off of the bread from time to time and just nibble on it. You'll get the taste of the bread (which is what you want) without killing your caloric intake for the day. Just don't go hogwild!
I finished 3/4 of a casserole dish of homemade spinach artichoke (dripping with cheese and mayo) dip a few weeks ago.  I didn't even ATTEMPT to analyze the recipe afterward....I knew I just ingested at least 3000 calories.  It was a moment of weakness and now I know :) I was also quite drunk and someone placed the dish directly in front of me! We'll all muck up once in a  while....doesn't mean your doomed, not at all! :)  At least it was something you TRULY enjoyed and not something digusting like a Big Mac and fries.
I was the one who posted about eating 4 chocolate macarroons this week. About 800 cals +. Just dust yourself off and keep going :)
Just last weekend, I went absolutely crazy and ate 4,000 calories on Friday and 3,700 calories on Saturday.  I ate the worst foods ever too... cheesecake, brownies, chocolate, cookies, ice cream... EVERYTHING in large quantities... about 4 or 5 servings of EACH!  I was devistated.  I had completely given up on my diet and just thought to myself, "Screw it!  I just reversed weeks of hard work.  I give up."

All you have to do is get back on track!  After that splurge, I gained 1.5 pounds and they stuck!  Now, I went back to eating healthy and working out, and I've lost the 1.5 pounds + another 1.5!  It won't completely derail your diet... just don't do it everyday, and you'll be fine!!  =)  It's never too late to jump back on the wagon!
Atleast you had some bananas :)
Once again, the moral of the story is, log BEFORE you eat!
try beating a grande meal at taco bell at 1am.

my ass hates me today.
