Oh, Mrs. Palin. You can go home now. Please. No, really.
Palin says she'd be honored to help Obama
If nothing else, this woman provides endless entertainment. ![]()
Heh, thanks, Carrie. I needed the giggle :)
i just wish she'd shut her stupid face and go back to Alaska.
The poll also suggests that men have a slightly more positive view of Palin than women
Ohhh really? I'm so shocked by this! *innocent look*
I'm so tired of seeing her in the news every day.
I wish she'd just go back under the rock she crawled out from.
psh, as if he wants any of her help.

"That's an association (Ayers )that still bothers me, and I think it's fair to still talk about it," she continued. "However, the campaign is over. That chapter is closed. Now is the time to move on and make sure all of us are doing all that we can to progress this nation."
Wait a minute. The 'association' was enough to harp on for me not to vote for Obama, but now that he will be president its less, not more, of an issue? Oh - maybe she's wanting to get in there to keep an eye on him, Maverick style.
Obama needs Palin's help like he needs a flesh-eating disease.
Hey I live in Alaska and we don't want her back either! What an embarrassment....
"It would be my honor to assist and support our new president and the new administration," said Palin,...
i think it's good that she's saying this
and i think we're seeing a flurry of interviews now because the mccain campaign pretty much muzzled her during the campaign (which i felt was extremely sexist of them, fwiw)
she may realize that she roused the rabble a bit too much and wants to unrouse them, pacify them, whatever
This woman is capable of sounding serious when she wants to. The winking- doncha-kno stuff is just her attempt to be folksy, like president Bush.
The republican slate in 2012:
Palin, Romney, Pawlenty, Crist, Huckabee... Gingrich
The Republican on that list that I think represents their best shot is Pawlenty. The others would only carry the conservative base, which is why they lost this time around.
Don't count out Huckabeeeeeeeeee!

Right. Fierce social conservative dressed up as folksy rocker. Although, his position on immigration issues are quite moderate.
you're just saying that because he used to be a baptist preacher and you're having a "liberal knee jerk" reaction to it ![]()
he's a an economic populist, a moderate on foreign policy & on most other things and has explicitly stated that he would have no agenda to change the constitution to enshrine Christianity in our government - he has a record of working with democrats in the Arkansas state house (which pissed off republicans) and yes, he has a very likable, charming way about him
that's why i say don't count him out

Help him with what?
with all things mavericky

Help him with what? They generally do not want the same things.
Maybe she can dress the White House turkey.

It's in the article.
But the real point is ... Palin is a douche.

Used douche at that!
I think the point is that she's doing the right thing here. Pretty much she's darned if she does and darned if she doesn't. No matter what she says, someone is going to pick her apart. I think she picked the better way to go in this instance. Do we really want a bunch of pouting, bitter Republicans who just refuse to work with our new President or even offer their help to him???
I think in an earlier thread, we were all just talking about how the American thing to do now is to unite and stand behind our president elect, even if you didn't vote for him. I think this is what she is doing here, and I think she has the right attitude.
Now, whether Obama takes her up on it is totally his call (and a whole different discussion)
Yeah, but is she doing the right thing for the right reasons?
Who cares? She was a douche before and she's still a douche and that's all I have to say about that.
