My belly size fluctuates a ridiculous amount from before and after taking a dump. I look big and bloated one minute, but then I'll go and my stomach is nice and flat...my weight will even drop at least 2 lbs!
The really frustrating thing is that I have to take these huge poops at least once a day, and sometimes I get constipated and gassy, making it even harder to lose my poop-gut.
Is this at all normal? I usually maintain a pretty healthy diet. I eat plenty of fruit, eat fiber one in my cereal every morning, and I drink lots of water. Any thoughts on why the waste accumulating in my intestines is so prominent, and if there's anything to do to change that??
If you're keeping your food log with CC and your analysis is that you're getting a lot more than 25g of fibre a day maybe cut it back a little.... Fibre is, by definition, bulky and indigestible and, in moderate amounts, keeps the digestion regular. But too much fibre (and fruit can be quite bloating all by itself) isn't always a good thing and can lead to bloating, constipation and flatulence.
You must be my twin. When my digestive system is working right, I poop about 5-6 times a day! I eat, get really bloated, then poop & deflate. I eat, get really bloated...the pattern continues. I don't know what to think of it.
I also get the gassy, gross feeling in between the time i eat & poo. I mean, everyone poops a different amount. Some people only take a dump like twice a week and that's normal for them. If you're really concerned, though, I guess you should talk to your doctor.
Thanks guys. It's good to know that I'm not the only one, swimfan! haha. I'll definitely keep an eye on my fiber intake over the next few days and see if altering that can make a difference!
COMPLETELY NORMAL... or well... at least... the same exact thing happens to me! It's pretty annoying but once everything is eliminated - ALL'S GOOD! ha ha!
when I was an exchange student in the USA I experienced exactly the same phenomenon. in retrospect I'm sure it came from the fiber rich diet of my host family.
I was never used to large amounts of fiber, but back then in the US we'd regularly eat beans, whole grains, veggies, dried fruit, and a LOT of raisin bran cereal.
no wonder I was gassy all the time! haha
but I gotta admit, the food was frickin delicious. :)
