Why oh why did they 'fix it' when it wasn't broken in the first place?
Anyone else think that the new-look graphs are next to useless? The old one was very accurate and gave me an immediate visual feedback on when my weight dipped, raised, or plateaued for short periods of time. I could see it change and then I could see it change back again equally quickly when the situation reversed. The new one has taken twelve months of weight data and turned it into a totally useless smooth curve! I KNOW my overall trend is 'down' - 65lbs of weightloss will do that to you - it is much more useful to be able to look at it and see the minor day-to-day variations... and now they're all obliterated. :( I hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can see the benifit of doing it this way, but I too am not happy with it. I can see that the smoother line helps you see how fast and steady you are going down. But I'd like to be able to see the dips and raises too, mostly b/c I want to see how much I fluctuate around ttom, and when I can expect my weight to be the highest. Guess I'll just have to look at the numbers instead of the graph.
I HATE this one!!! It totally agree with you. I liked seeing every dip and every rise, not smooth lines all over. Yuck! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE GO BACK TO THE OLD ONE!!!
I hate it too. :( It seems like the new blue line is somewhere between the old blue version and the green trend line, and I don't understand why this change was made. Having one line made up of exact weights and one trend line made perfect sense. The key is not even accurate anymore since it lists the blue line as "Weight (lbs)," and it is clear that the exact weight for some days does not match up on the graph. This is (was) one of my favorite features on the site, and I found it useful to see on the graph how my weight fluctuated day by day (and this is also the one feature I do use every day). I hope Calorie Count will consider at least providing an option to customize the graph with the old version as a choice.
I like the new graph. Small fluctuations in weight are totally irrelevant. The only thing that matters is progress over a long period of time. Focusing on daily or even weekly ups and downs is useless and frustrating.
I agree -- I dislike the new graph. Regardless of whether the trend is the important part, I prefer to be able to see all my ups and downs -- and draw strength from know that what has gone up recently can obviously come back down. It also showed, pretty much at a glance, when my cycle would start -- just based on the "ups"
Please -- bring back the old weight graph
Thank you all for this feedback - we're working on improving the entire graphing system and hope to be able to offer you a number of great new features soon (see my reply to this other topic for more details). In the meantime, we'll do our best to improve the current system while we're in transition. Please feel free to get in touch directly with your feedback and apologies for the inconvenience.
Thanks, Erik! It's good to know this is a step along the way to something bigger and better. :)
I hope the new and improved graph comes quickly then... the averaging algorithm on this one is doing REALLY weird things to my weight line right now. It doesn't really know how to graph it when my weight's been going up and down by a few pounds every few days over the holidays - I've just lost two pounds of holiday water weight, and the graph line doesn't show it at all.
FYI - we just pushed through some changes which I've detailed on the other thread discussing this topic. Feel free to get in touch anytime with your questions, concerns, or comments.
