Is there anyone from Oklahoma here?

I live 43 miles from Oklahoma City and looking out for those tornadoes already. :(

If you are....Have you been affected by any of the fires? We have been lucky so far, the closest big one has been 23 miles away from us. Many smaller ones closer, but they were nothing to worry about as they were contained quickly. :)

 Actually, I'm from New York but have been here 2 1/2 years and we love it - except for those darn tornadoes.

I'm from the Sooner State too.  I was born in CA but my family moved to NORMAN, OK when I was 4.  I left for a while after I got married but we're back and we brought our own little one back home with us...from NC.  We've been back home now for 3 years.  It's good to be home!

My husband is from McAlester.  Most of his extended family is still in that area so we visit a couple of times a year.  He's also one of the biggest Sooner fans ever born!

I was born in Oklahoma, but grew up mostly in Tx.  Then went back to Oklahoma for college!  GO SOONERS!  There I met my husband.  GO SOONERS!

Now we live in Georgia, but we really miss our old stomping ground.  My grandparents still live there (in lawton).

Anyway, 2sooners- My husband and I also lived in GA before coming back home.  My parents still do. They're in Temple, near AL. Just wanted to say "HI" 'cause you're there in GA and you made me think about my folks.  :)

Tuttle here and to answer your question, no I have never had any problems with fires here. So far so good! I moved to Oklahoma 5 years ago from Maine ( Originally from NYC )
