5 year old doesn't want to stop exercising, I've created a monster!!

I have been dieting and exercising for a little over three months now and my 5 year old has been watching and even joining in when I did aerobics. But yesterday something in her sparked. While i was lifting weights she decided to get on my elliptical. She was able to make it go for about 5 mins, then she wanted to lift weights so i put it on the lowest setting and let her do chest presses. But then that wasn't enough, she wanted to go for a bike ride so we headed outside. She rode while her brother and I jogged along with her. She rode 15 blocks before I could tell her legs were getting tired. We got home, had some dinner, then she wanted to go out again. We ended up jogging 4 blocks before I insisted she stop for the day. She wanted to keep going. She was actually mad at me for not letting her exercise longer, haha. I had to promise her we would do it again today.

I love that she is learning from me and enjoying herself while exercising, it's so cute. And even her 2.5 year old brother is getting into it. Now if I could just get their Daddy on his feet, haha

That is so cute my three year old (nearly 4) brother loves to try my exercise equipment like my stepper and eleptical and has watched by boyfreind practice kickboxing and weigth lifing in our home gym, he wants him to show him the moves at 3 lol.

Bless her for her lil legs getting tired but wantin to keep going anyway.

That is the cutest thing i've ever heard!

i remember doin aerobics with my mom when i was lik 5 lol vaguelyyyy n liftin her 5 pound weight hehe

thas cooooot

Watch out, kezflake. My son started Tae Kwan Do at four (we both quit after the instructor broke my arm). My current Grand Master started at age four and had his 3rd degree black belt at age twelve. I've known two or three 8-year old black belts. I sure wouldn't have wanted a little brother that had a black belt!

Aww.. I have memories of doing Jazzercize with my Mom back in the day when I was about 4 or 5.  I can still remember some of the music and moves! (girl from epinema (sp?)). LMAO

Hmm when i was 4, before i became computer addicted the only thing i could do for fun was watch TV, listen to music or use the multi gym in our garage.

I spent so much time on the multi gym i could lift more than my own bodyweight without too much of a problem, at 4.

Unfortunatly my parents sold the multi gym and we ended up getting a computer a few years later, and now i need to get back into shape. It would be nice if i could lift more than my own bodyweight again, although i do weigh alot more now!

Computer addiction wasn't much of a problem when I was a kid. Nor was TV, though at least we had TV! I think I will now start blaming my weight gain on cable and computer. . .

My 2 year old daughter decided last night that she wanted to do pushups with me.  It was great.  There are pictures somewhere, I'll have to post them.

I think getting ids into excercise is great as there seems to be so much in the news about the dangers of children playing outside or at least in the UK there is. Im amazed at how much technology my younger cousins had in their rooms at age 4 and 5 and a playstation in front of my 3 year old bro is like hypnosis.

Kids are so cute when they try to copy

I think it is refreshing to hear families that are healthy and set healthy examples for their kids.  Kudos to your lifestyle and teaching the lesson of health to the next generation.  :-)

haha the next Jane Fonda! :P Thats really cute. I remember my mom would get us girls to exercise when we were itty bitty too. She'd put on oldies music like the twist and "my boyfriends back" lol and we would dance all around the house...we still rock out to those crazy songs :D

That is so funny!  My best workout partners are my two dogs and my 7 y/o nephew.  He loves to do Turbo Jam and prefers it over playing Nascar '06 on the XBox (I'm sure that won't last much longer)

He tries to copy the moves, then when he gets bored with that he wants to get on the treadmill.  It is so nice to have a workout partner who doesn't want to stop and have ice cream first or tries to talk you out of a workout and opt for dinner out.  The dogs don't do that either, which is nice.
