41 year old teacher looking for buddies...
I am ready to get started. I would like some friends to work with. Anyone out there needing a buddy?
I am also a new member who just turned 53 last month with 55 pounds to lose.
Peace,
hi, I'm 43 and also need to lose. My current weight is 134 ,I'm trying for 120 pounds. I'm not a tall girl 5'1, so I think thats a realistic goal for me.
I have added you as a friend.
I am also quite new here, 41 years old (I think only a few months older than you stilltryin') and aiming to lose a little over 30 lbs to begin with.
I just started today and just turned 40 in Nov. I've been unemployed and sedentary for the past three years due to 2 failed back surgeries and have put on 75 pounds. @345 I have to do something. It'd be wonderful to have some mutual support.
43 female in Ohio. This is my second week of CC and I can see and feel the difference! I would like some buddies too. Lots of nice people on these posts, Stilltryin : )
Thanks for the replies! I will put you all as friends. I am still learning how to do this and it gets rather frustrating. I'll be in touch with you all soon!
you can be my friend, if you want :D i'm 49 still for another week or so. i started on 9/4 & have already lost 53 pounds! i have another 35 to go, i guess. i'm 5'8" & 165 today!!! this site is awesome!!!
if I can do this, anyone can!!!
Hi, snowfence! I'll add you as my buddy. I have lost 3 lbs. since I started watching my calories the first week of January. I started this so I could get some friendly support. It's been great! People are all very nice and have great ideas for me to keep up my work. Hope to hear more from you!
I am a fairly new member, also. I'm 41 and my goal is a weight loss of 75 lbs. I have already managed to lose 5 lbs. I am so glad I found this site. It has been a GREAT help for me. And knowing there are others out there that struggle, just as I do, helps keep me focused...not only for myself, but so I can support others dealing with the same things I deal with.
Soon 2B new teacher here -- career change! I turned 40 on December 30, but thanks to good genes and being only 5' tall, I certainly don't look it. I really got serious about going back to the gym last Spring and have been running (my 1st 5K on Thanksgiving!) about 3-5 miles three times a week. I've lost 35 pounds and have about 10-15 left. Let me emphatically say that once you get into the habit of going to the gym all the time, you actually mentally and physically miss it if you don't go! I'm also virtually a vegetarian -- just not a big meat fan, but love my fruits and veggies.
Hi 1kkatt and jb_beaujolais!! I will add both of you as friends. We can keep up with this ugly thing called dieting together! I have several other people that I talk with daily and that seems to be my saving grace in all of this.
1kkatt- are you a teacher or just a new member?
jb_beaujolais- congratulations on choosing teaching as a career! good luck with the 10-15 and the teaching job!!
