Older Young Calorie Counters.

Quote  |  Reply
Looking at this site I'd say there were two groups of younger calorie counters. 13-17 and 18-25. I was wondering if anyone in that second group would like to start a topic.

I myself am 19 and while I am young I don't feel I really "fit in" with 13 year olds and such as I've pretty much already been through that.

Any thoughts?

Not much of a debate when i for the most part agree with you. ^_^
FFS!!! I am not ageist! I don't hate teenagers. **** i still AM a teen in all technicality BUT THERES A DIFFERENCE. Those of UNI AGE have different problems that HIGH SCHOOL AGE. Fact.

And btw, both of you are free to express your opinion but I would appreciate not being called ageist  when all I am trying to do is talk to people IN MY POSITION.

As my mum and many others have said: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. I want a post with people MY age because there are certain factors that only effect people MY age. Deal with it.
.. What problems do college kids have that high schoolers don't?  Not being able to get a good seat?  Having to pay for our education (eventually)?  Not having some disgusting excuse for a lunch served to us on a flimsy plastic tray that's never been cleaned before?

Sorry.  I finished high school five years ago and college two months ago.  The only difference in ploblems was I no longer had Mommy and Daddy yelling at me to do the dishes.  I was, instead, yelling at Alex to do the dishes.  But that's lifestyle and my age didn't effect it, my placement in life did.

I'm your age, kiddo, but I think you're acting like some of the little immature tweens on here with that, "I want a post with people MY age," nonsense.  Not saying there's anything wrong with this post, oh no.  I think others got the wrong idea about it and expressed their feelings about that, but I think your final statement was a little on the immature side.

So.  How 'bout them Flames?  I hear Calgary, and all of Canada in general, is sucking this season.

Old people is soooo funnay!

I like the idea of this group. Mainly because some who's 22 and trying to lose college wait is easier to talk to then someone who is 16, weighs 120 and wants to lose more.

Good thread idea although the point does seem to have got slightly hijacked.  :o)

I'm 25 going on 40 (an attitude that I have a new years resolution to try and change a little).

I'm in the UK, work full time, rent with my boyfriend of 18 months, love my mom and am knitting jumpers for my first niece or nephew due in April!!  I love being "settled" and am spending the next 2 years sorting out my finances (from c**king them up as a teenager) so that I can get married and have babies (also a good motivation to get as fit and healthy as possible).

I'm 17 and have mostly older (18-20) friends. I just don't associate with 13-15 year olds, as this thread has grouped with me. It's not a persons age, it is their maturity level.

Within reason, of course.

There are also those who take part in mixed age-group activities. I for instance have primary interests in reading, travelling and music - particularly live gigs and festivals. Yet I do like to go out and party the night away at clubs/parties, whilst drinking an obscene amount. Immaturity and maturity are afterall, appropriate at different points. Especially at the ages we are all at now.
Well I guess I still apply although I'm at the higher end of the scale, no pun intended. :p

I'm 25 and trying to lose weight too. Hi.

Hey!  I'm 19, 20 in march and in college.

Trying to be healthy for the first time in my life and not live off of fast food has led me to have an unhealthy relationship with food and GAIN weight....I'm trying to fix things...

Hello!  I turned 20 at the end of January.  I like books and movies.  I actually have to return my Netflix so I can get another movie.

I started my weight loss for my New Years Resolution, and I'm glad I did.  Here is my weight loss so far (every 15 days):

DATE:                             Weight
January 1, 2008             199
January 16, 2008           190
January 31, 2008           188
Today (02/04/08)       ;     187

Oh how I miss the water-weight days of Week 1...

Right now I'm writing out small goals for myself everyday and working hard to complete those goals.  A typical set of goals should be no more than what could fit on a post-it; that makes it considerably more do-able.  My goals usually look something like this:

Exercise Goals:
  1. The GYM - arms workout day.
  2. Bike to class
  3. Stretch today; big workout.
Food Goals:
  1. 1500 - 1700 Calories
  2. Lower my salt intake (2500 mg or less)
  3. 64+ fl. oz. Water
Random Goals:
  1. Bank - Refund Check!
  2. Look at today better than yesterday.
At the end of the day, I cross out what I did, and circle what I failed to do that day, and I suggest improvements for myself.

Hey all,  I'm 19 and looking to get to around 103lbs, which means losing my freshman 15 and then some!  I personally would appreciate a thread where I could talk to people my own age, who are maybe at the same point in their lives, or a little older so that they can tell me how they got through it.

Wow, this really turned ugly fast! I think the point is that 18-25 don't go to high school and a lot of them don't live with their parents still. There are different aspects of life for someone who is 13 and someone who is 20.

Yikes. I was going to post here looking for nice and intelligent people my own age but from the looks of it some of you are still immature babies. Cute.

Back to the main boards I go!

I'm 23. I don't have anything against teenagers. I don't even feel like I'm in my 20's.
I thought this was supposed to be a way to motivate Calorie Counters over age 16, so we could relate to each other.

Let's go!  I've been a member of Calorie Counter since September but I haven't really gotten serious on a diet until January 8, 2008.  I want to hear what you all have to say, about what you're doing to keep motivated and on your diet.

I've lost 11 pounds, but it feels fruitless because I don't feel a difference in my clothing, nor do I see any difference on my body.
