i only have about 4 months left of being 14... i turn 15 on christmas =)

i'm kristen, 5'8", and weigh about 120 lbs. i'm a runner & i'm maintaining & my doctor says i am at a perfect weight (:

You can give up any dreams of growing taller if you lose more weight.  You're already really thin as it is, you will stop growing if you get to 94 pounds.  94 pounds sounds like a good weight for someone who is 4'10 or shorter, but not for someone as tall as you.  Trying toning your body instead of losing weight, although I have a feeling that you already have a great body as it is.

I know i will not grow taller if i loose weight. im not stupid.

Nothingelsematters:  I never called you stupid, but you said you want to grow taller and lose weight.  You cannot do both.  At 14, your body is still growing, and it will change a lot over the next couple years.  You may not be completely happy with it right now, but give it a chance to fully develop and you may find in a couple years that you absolutely love it.  If you're 14, then chances are pretty good that you will grow another inch or so.  You're already taller than many women ever will be, and I'm sure you are admired and envied for that.

With a BMI of 17.9, there is no possible way you are fat.  If you're fat, then there's no hope for the rest of us.  I'm 5'3 (three whole inches shorter than you) and weigh 127 pounds.  And guess what?  I love my body, and I even have people call me skinny from time to time.  My BMI is 22.5, which is much higher than yours.  If you reached your goal of 94, your BMI would be 15.2.  Many doctors consider that the point of starvation.  I really hope you will take a look in the mirror today and realize that you have a beautiful body, and realize that it does so many good things for you.  Losing weight will be harmful to your body.  I challenge you to find 3 things about your physical appearance or personality that you like today.  Do this every day, or even every couple of days, and focus on the things that make you beautiful.  There are many things, but they are hard to notice when you are too busy looking at the fat that isn't there.

Loserxface: I've got the same stats as you! :) You don't need to lose any weight, your BMI is only 18.5, which is the lowest it can be. 

ichigochanx: Ya might wanna gain some weight or at least check your eating habits, you're actually underweight. But it's hard to tell because we're young and have fast metabolisms! :D

Sierrax: Heyyy, sorry, I don't mean to preach, but when I was 90 pounds and 5'3, my hands and feet were turning purple, I was always cold, and could hardly walk home from the bus stop without passing out. So you might wanna just maintain your weight instead, 'cause your perfect just the way you are! :D

Personally, I think that if you are thinking that 17.9 BMI is fat, then you're crazy. I think that it is more important to be healthy than to lose all of that weight. you just would be losing muscle, and its good to have muscle.

personally, I like my weight, I would like to lose about 5 more pounds to reach my goal ( I was originally 205 pounds). I do a HIIT cardio 4-5 days a week plus cardio kickboxing and yoga spattered about. :3

Its good cuz I have hips and dont look like a skeleton. Its really about being happy in life and with your lifestyle than the number on the scale.

hey! (: i'll be 14 in two months. i'm 135ish lbs, but it helps that i'm 5"8. i would like to lose 10-15 pounds and tone up a little bit. but i know i'm not ever gonna be an extremely small person. i mean, i'm swedish (and tall) from my dad's side and we have BIG hips. lol =P

a lot of you girls are underweight, just fyi. either that or your goal weights are. so just watch yourselves. your weight doesn't matter at all, and "being able to say" that you weigh something is stupid. just be healthy and have a good body image.

goal: maintain, tone up, maybe gain another 5lbs or so (not skinny but my face looks kinda hollow sometimes) looking to tone up my legs for dance :)

[only on this site because I used to be about 30 lbs heavier and my doc. prescribed calorie-counting etc, and then lost too much and gained it back so just looking to maintain]

 NOTE-->
at 90 lbs I looked horribly thin and unhealthy. Anyone my height or taller should NOT be under 105 lbs unless their build is tiny because all it does it make you cold, most likely anemic, and very unhealthy

 

edit to add--> i have friends who are 4'10 and 95 lbs and they are still VERY petite looking, so plesae don't damage your health :|
