Olive Garden

Quote  |  Reply

So I have plans to go to Olive Garden this weekend and I was very impressed with their website!  They have a picture and nutritional information for every dish!  Anyways, I noticed they serve smaller portions during lunch then at dinner.  If I went at dinner time, would they allow me to order the lunch portion?  I wasn't sure if some restaurants were strict on this.  Does anybody work there that knows about this or anyone else thats been out to eat there?

P.S. I know that nothing there is going to be exactly low-calorie and I defintiely plan on enjoying myself.  I just know I would be just as satisfied if given a smaller portion and didn't know if that was rude to do.

I'm pretty sure they would let you get the lunch-sized portion. I've done it at other restaurants and I don't see why Olive Garden would be any different.

The Apricot Chicken is pretty low-cal, and so are the Minestrone and the Bean soups. If you ordered a salad, you could always order the dressing on the side and leave out the bread and cheese.

I bet they might let you order a lunch portion, but the cost would probobly still stay the same. The lunch order of the Apricot Chicken is only 280 cals, so I'll ususally also order a kid's meal of whole wheat pasta as my "side dish", hahah. It's only 250 cals, and it's a nice sized portion.

I went to Olive Garden a couple weeks ago around 6pm and ordered the lunch portion of the Venetian Apricot Chicken. The waitress gave me no problems about it, so I assume it would be the same for all their meals.

If you want some thing very low-cal i would suggest the minestrone soup. It's delish! And on the website says only 100calories for the lunch portion. If you get that you can have some salad (around 100-200 calories depending on how much), and a breadstick!

Hi thanks for all the good suggestions!  I actually arleady know what I'm going to get :-P (the mushroom ravoili *drool*) but I was just wondering if it was allowed to order the smaller lunch portion at night. (it changes the calorie count from like 670 to 430!)   I guess I'm just asking here first because I'm going out with a guy on a date and I don't really want to be turned down by the waitress when I'm ordering! LOL
