OMG!!! Dannon Light & Fit non fat yogurt is no longer 60 cals :(:(:(
Wow,
I got myself Dannon non-fat yogurts yesterday and the calories are now 80 (which used to be 60) :(:(:(
This is very upsetting. Its even in a new white cup, instead of purple
Reason: moved to a more appropriate forum
It's because they've added two ounces to the serving size. LOL
HHMM no, it was always 6oz (170g)
I don't think an extra 20 calories is going to ruin your day sweety... that's the equivalent of ONE mint candy, or half a dozen grapes. Unless you eat sixteen cups of yoghurt a day, it's not going to make a difference. I'm not sure how anyone finds that stuff edible - I don't know what they put into that particular yoghurt but it tastes like water with vegetable gum to me!
No it isn't 8 oz. The cup is still 6 oz, but they added 20 calories, and 4 grams of sugar. They also took out any added Splenda. They claim that the new recipe is better tasting, and more creamy. Twenty extra calories is so insignificant that I'm sure anyone on here could safely fit this yogurt into their diet. Given the nutrition of the yogurt, the extra few calories is worth it. Not sure why everyone is making such a big deal over so small an amount. Its not like they doubled the calories.
I havent tried it yet so hopefully it tasted better ) I know 20 cals is nothing, I was just surprised to see the difference
i was surprised too! I actually switched and just bought a big container of plain yogurt (from sonyfeild I think) because it is less added sugar and less expensive to buy the big container (and I can dish out exactly how much i want!)
Also disconcerted because the deli where I usually buy it still has the purple 60 cal cups. Should I start checking the dates more closely, or find a new deli?
They just released the improved version about a week ago so the purple ones are still good for about 3 weeks or so. By the way, the newer version really does taste a bit better without the liquidy consistency and completely artificially sweet taste. Just picked myself up a few from the deli round the corner.
Have to say... I'm eating mine right now and it does taste a little better. The flavor's still same but it is creamier :)
Had a new one yesterday...tasted EXACTLY the same to me.
that's BULLSyouknowwhat*&!!!!
i used to spend forever in front of the yogurt reading lables, torn between the tradeoffs of fat, sugar, price, organic, splenda, aspartame. BLAH!
those days were behind me and Dannon ligt and fit is my go-to, even the husband loves it.
i don't care about 20 extra calories, but i DO care about 4 more grams of sugar. and i love Splenda. i know 4 grams is only a teaspoon, but i am still not happy with it. there's extra teaspoons of sugar everywhere and one has to draw the line somewhere.
am I going to be stuck paying extra for those TINY Dannon Carb & Sugar Control, with the weird consistency?
I make my own fat free yogurt and I love Dannon as a starter. What I make is actually smoother tasting for some reason. It's really just fine without sweetener at all. I have tried adding splenda to the mix before incubating it but it makes the consistancy weird. Maybe that's what they're fighting.
does anyone know if they took out the gelatin? i used to LOVE that yogurt until i found out it wasnt vegetarian! totally gross :(
yeah, i made a thread on this already..
i'm really pissed :|
20 calories almost makes the difference between better n' peanut butter or the real thing (50 calories compared to 80), and of course i'd rather eat the real thing. it makes a difference between using chocolate in my oatmeal, or two more tablespoons of jam on my toast. it just all adds up.
KDJSKALDSjklahf
I eat this yogurt almost every day! I am angry about the extra calories, even though it's only 20. Every calorie counts! And more sugar? What is this?! The yogurt tasted fine to me before and now it tastes exactly the same...for 20 more calories and FOUR more grams of sugar. I just think that's ridculous.
My mom was telling me that Alpha-bits (the cereal) did the same thing a few years ago, adding unhealthy sugars and calories to the cereal just to make it taste better. However, so many people complained that they changed it back to the original! I'm emailing Dannon. Haha, I'm sure they'll listen to me :P
I have tried the TINY Dannon Carb & Sugar Control, talk about nasty, artificial tasting.....
LOL its only 20 calories ya'll!!!!!
I thought Light n Fit in the purple container tastes awful! I like Yo+, it has lots of good stuff and NO artificial sweeteners, so none of that awkward tasting bleh
It's impressive how people can get angry over 20 calories. :)
