And I have failed at them all.  Everything from Weight Watchers, to "The Rice Diet".  Some were complete wastes of time, some got off to a good start.  But all failed in the end.

I am hoping that other members of "The 100 Pounder Club" will give some examples of there dieting disasters.  let's hear it folks!!  we are all among friends here!!!

Thank you so much for your input it is much appreciated and a baby me !! thanks again. I think you are correct about the calorie intake some days I am really struggling to eat the amount I am supposed to as I have had a hectic day. I will try the fruit with yoghurt I havent tried that yet and I have been eating fish for Britain but possibly not enough chicken - lean abviously.

Watch the sugar content on low/non fat yogurts with fruit.  They make up for the fat by adding a lot of sugar (same for reduced fat/low fat peanut butter).  Try plain nonfat yogurt and mixing in some spreadable fruit or no sugar added jams.

I am new to this group, but had a couple of reactions to some of what I read.  I am 56 years old and don't know what happened to all the days, months and years I thought I had to accomplish weight loss and fitness. I've tried, lost, and gained too many times, and then put off dealing with the reality of accepting the lifestyle change versus "diet." My knees started killing me and I began to suspect diabetes was sneaking up on me.

I thought of my 91 year old mother still living on her own. I also want to live independently for as long as I can.  I want to have the freedom to get up and go when I want, without struggling with a cane or walker or pulling an oxygen tent or any of the myriad other problems that would cut off my freedom.

I don't have any illusions about ever wearing a two piece bathing suit again. But I do want to be healthy and feel that time is running out on that possibility.

But have lost 17 pounds in the last two months.  I know that rate will not continue, but that's okay.  I am exercising five days a week and have worked up to 60 minutes each day.  It hurt,  I hate it.  But it is working.  My knees are talking to me, but I can now go up and down a flight of stairs, which three months ago had become impossible.

So, guess my point is - you are never too old to lose weight.  But the day could come that it may be too late to recover your health if you keep putting it off any longer.

Today was not a stellar day for me.  Okay, so?  Do I give up?  Tomorrow I will return to what I have been doing the past two months.

Thanks.  I feel better.
