OMG meals/snacks you used to eat
What meals or snacks caused you to gain weight that you'd just eat a ton of?
I'll start first:
- 99 cent bag of furitos and a can of hormel chili with TONS of cheese on it
- box of graham crackers and a jar of chocolate frosting
- double bacon cheese burger with large criss cut fries and ranch
- "gotta have it" sized cold stone birthday cake remix
- Entire box of little debbie snack cake
I could really go on for days :)
Let's see:
-McDonalds every single day, twice or three times a day sometimes.
-Lots of chips
-Lots of pizza
-Lots of chinese.
No real "snack foods", just a lot of really bad meals.
i remember eating a lot of... oreos, crackers, bagels, slices of pie, slices of pizza, ice cream... the list goes on.
i grazed on quite a lot of not so great things way back when.
1/2 of a large Dominoes deep-dish cheese pizza along with half of an order of breadsticks or cheesey bread, and something sugary to go along with that like some gummy bears
A few hours after eating all that, an order of fries.
A whole Applebees grilled cheese BLT and fries, followed by ice cream
ice cream. bagels. croissants. pasta. eating out (big steak dinners and large serving sizes and such). huge bowls of cereal. bread. cookies. muffins. brownies. otis spunkmeyer big chocolate chip cookies. trail mix. cheddar/parmesan goldfish. cheetos. mozzarella sticks. pizza. cinnabon. jamba juice smoothies. starbucks frappuccinos. peanut butter sandwiches. grilled cheese. bacon. pancakes. milkshakes. burgers. fries. chips. nachos. chowder. cake. pie.
...sigh
I used to make a box of mac and cheese, open a can of tuna and a can of peas, mix 'em all in a punch bowl and eat that.
Oreo cookies, and I don't mean just two to four. I don't even mean the entire sleeve. I mean I would scarf down an entire pack of the blessed bastards in an afternoon.
It amazes me that I've never been particularly fat. ![]()
Regular coke, tons of pizza, and burritos. Ah undergrade college life.
GUMMY CANDY. Anyone who thinks that there's ACTUALLY 5-7 servings of gummy candy in a bag is ridiculous. What's that, then, 5 gummy bears per serving?
Chicken tenders (<3 <3 <3 <3)
Chicken WINGS. ZOMG.
GIANT bowls of cereal (probably 2-3 servings each, and I wondered why I was gaining!!!)
Bread.
COOKIES.
Cheetos
CHIPS.
Iced coffees/smoothies
French fries
Pie. (I won't touch the stuff now although I adore it in all its forms.)
Fried potatoes. I used to skin, cut up and fry 10-12 red potatoes in a pan with like, an inch and a half of oil. I'd salt the heck out of them and that would be my dinner.
Lots of fast food - McDonald's, Arby's, Taco Bell.
At least one 20 oz bottle of Coke a day. At least.
My grandma's southern style green beans - made with bacon grease, salt pork and potatoes.
Lots of carbs - two or three cups of pasta with a crapload of butter and cheese, big bags of popcorn, french fries, pizza....

My mom used to make something similar. She'd cut up about 5 potatoes (the big ones) and stick them in a skillet with a ton of crisco and onions. I'd pour a gallon of ketchup on them and eat up. Those were my favorite breakfast food. I'd eat at least half.

My favorite was pringles and zingers. Every morning I would have one of the small canisters of pringles and a three pack of zingers with my 24 oz Pepsi.
The fried potatoes sound great; my mom made them with butter and onions. YUM.
when i was younger i used to eat cookies every day after school and used to get fast food all the time. as a teenager, i remember always going out to eat w/ friends and ordering the bad stuff like a chicken sandwhich w/ fries. Also cereal was my killer, i used to eat at least 2 huge bowls for breakfast every morning, and the really sugary kind too- from cocoa puffs to cinnamon toast crunch. pizza always on fridays, at least 2 slices and a piece of cheese calzone. sesame chicken and lo mein from the chinese food place. and of course, sweets were always my downfall!
OMG...Jalepeno poppers!! Pizza, pasta, bread, potatoes, cookies, cake, chips, nachos, breakfast croissants from Jack in the Box, BEER, Chimichangas...Holy crap, I could go on and on.
Btw, does anyone else see a pattern here in the things that made people "fat"? Sugary, starchy, processed foods and no veggies. Notice no one has said "I gained 40 lbs snacking on asparagus." Its definitely good to compare notes.
Oh graham crackers with chocolate frosting is the BEST! I had one sheet of graham cracker with a teaspoon of peanut butter and a tablespoon of fat free cool whip today and I thought I was in heaven until I read this thread and remembered how good an entire pack of graham crackers is with a bowl of home made chocolate frosting. drool.
I also could eat an entire sleeve of saltines covered with butter. Oh I really do miss real butter.
I once at an entire bag of Chili Cheese Fritos. I was sick as a dog but couldn't stop eating them.
Fast food. I will sometimes snag a few fries from the bag when I get it for other people but I've been fast food free for many many moons now.
When I went to IHOP I would get the hash browns AND the pancakes with my meal and pay extra.
I could also eat an entire batch of cookies. That's supposed to yeild 3-4 dozen right? Yeah, between snacking on the batter and eating the hot ones...yeah. Now why was I fat again??
I feel kind of ashamed admitting to all that. I hope to god I'm never in that place again. I'm in the place where half a serving of graham cracker with 1/6 a serving of pb and half a serving of cool whip is food heaven.
You seriously made me want peanut butter graham crackers. If I had those in my cabinet I'd binge on them! Ohhh I need the itty bitty packs. mmm graham.
I'm also guilty of the cookie dough snagging.
You know what I used to do??? Get this:
I'd make 2 batches of cookies. One for the dough, one for the cookies. I'd take 2 baked cookies and put a ball of cookie dough between them, squish, and EAT. My cookie cookie dough sandwich. Gawd..
Mocha.
Chocolate milk or cocoa before bed.
1-2 tbs of honey in every cup of coffee, i drink 4-6 cups every day.
Cookie dough.
Then the cookies.
Sticky buns 6 inches across, homemade with pecans (look those up they are so bad)
coconut chocolate graham layer bars.
Chocolate muffins
I have sugar problems, I love sugar and if my blood sugar gets a bit low I crave and shake. I have alcoholisum in my family, though i am not a drinker i have always craved the sugar.
