OMG meals/snacks you used to eat
What meals or snacks caused you to gain weight that you'd just eat a ton of?
I'll start first:
- 99 cent bag of furitos and a can of hormel chili with TONS of cheese on it
- box of graham crackers and a jar of chocolate frosting
- double bacon cheese burger with large criss cut fries and ranch
- "gotta have it" sized cold stone birthday cake remix
- Entire box of little debbie snack cake
I could really go on for days :)
i once ate an entire bag of oreos with a huge glass of skim milk. It felt good when i did it but after i ate it oh regret!!
Clarice
Loads of fast food.. of the many different selections:
-McDonald's two cheeseburger meal with large fries and drink (1400 cals IIRC)
-Panda express double serving of orange chicken with fried rice and large drink (~1600?)
- Del taco large size chicken burrito meal (~1300)
- A whole small size Papa John's pizza (~1300)
Hmm.. Soda out the wazoo.. way too much of it, sometimes 60-80oz per day..
Giant frozen meals with 3 days worth of Sat. Fat and sodium..
Full medium sized bags of unsuspecting potato chips...
Ice cream sandwiches, cookies, oven-heated fries and pizzas, microwaved ramen, full boxes of mac n' cheese using chips as spoons, etc... etc..
I shudder at the thought now. To think I would go from that to basically exclusively lean meat, nuts, fruits and veggies, beans, oats, healthy oils, whole grains and occasionally milk or cheese... I guess things change.
double cheeseburgers from mcdonalds.
milkshakes (can honestly say I havent had one of these since I found out their calorie count i just cant...lol)
ramen noodles...as a snack....gross
candy bars and popcorn from the pharmacy after school
king size bags of spicy doritos at break. (not even in a meal...gross)
haha..
I was a sucker for anything prepackaged. My freezer was packed with pizza rolls, hot pockets, waffles, breaded chicken patties, french fries, and whatever else was on sale in the frozen section, really.
Also, I ate a LOT of fast food. I could easily eat 2 double cheeseburgers, a 5 piece mcnugget, fries, and a milkshake without second guessing. McDonalds was my weakness, followed by Arby's beef-n-cheddars.
...and sweets. lots and lots of sweets. My boyfriend used to work at our university candy shop and sometimes our dinner would be pure chocolate.
Sickening.
Edit to add: I almost forgot about the 2 years I worked in the mall and ate like 4 Magic Wok Egg Rolls with a smoothie on my break every day, followed by a giant Cookie Company dessert when the store closed.
Every day after school my friend and I would walk down to Jack in the box and each order 4 tacos, a large fry, and a soda. Then after we'd go to baskin robins and get one of those chocolate milk shakes and head home. We thought since we walked the block to get there, it was kind of a work out?
Gawd.
I used to take half a bag of curly frys, pop them down in the deep fryer, and eat HALF the bag with tons of ranch.
Instead of eating salad, I used to dump a bunch of ranch, sun flower seeds, and carrots into a bowl and eat that. yum.
I was raised with COUNTRY GRAVY and ate it with almost every meal. Can we say fried pork chops, country gravy w/ buttery mashed potatoes?
I ate a bag of recees pieces before. Like those family sized bags? Yea. I did.
I feel queezy talking about this stuff.
Oh I used to LOVE those Jack in the Box tacos, I wonder if I still do. I watched them make them once and yeah, they're deep fried. Mmmmmm grease.
I almost ate an Oreo the other day and then I looked at the calorie count and that is for TWO cookies. I don't think so. If I want dessert think of how much low cal frozen yogurt I can scarf down for that.
Soft pretzels coated in butter and parmesan then dipped into a tub of cream cheese. Oh yum.
I STILL eat the popcorn at the movies and I take it WITH butter. I just have to watch what I eat for the rest of the day to work it in. That's one thing I still think is worth the calories. Nothing beats a movie with hot buttery chemical movie theater popcorn.
I used to get the gallon sized container of chocolate ice cream and dump 2% milk on top, wait for it to harden a bit, then go to town. I'm fairly sure I'd still love to do that one.
I used to eat Panchero's a lot. I'd get a chicken burrito with queso, sour cream and avacado. Those things have at least 1000 calories in them!
Oh, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I'd eat like 3 bowls for dinner and call it good.
I haven't had either in two months now, since i started my diet, and I don't miss them!
I was over weight eating healthy.
My downfall was daily desserts.
Not enough exercise (I thought 30 minutes a day was enough for me).
I recently up'd the workouts.
I'm logging everything to locate myself.
I will assume to many calories.

GOOD LORD, no wonder I lost so much weight. Disgusting thinking of what I used to eat!!!
umney: probably carl's junior
I used to eat a lot of white rice drowned in sambal chili sauce. It was really a killer! KFC was my favourite fast food outlet back then. Ugh. I also ate scoops and scoops of ice cream after dinner everyday.
Whole pints of ice cream (in one sitting!), candy bars, pop tarts, grilled cheese sandwiches, mac and cheese, pizza, french fries, potato chips. Oh, and granola bars... Not even the so-called healthy ones you can get, but the kind that were covered in chocolate. Usually four or five a day.
I also used to work in a nursing home and was put in charge of the little ice cream parlor they had... I would literally sit there for 6 - 8 hours and just gorge myself on free ice cream.
krispy kreme doughnuts 4 or 5
Lots of bread, pasta, Amaranth cookies, and Huge portions of everything!
I LOVE honey butter. Used to take a whole tub of the crap and 3/4 of a loaf of bread and go at it. Oh man...
Chocolate chip cookies and whip cream. Like half a box and a whole tub of whip cream. One sitting.
Nutella on EVERYTHING! Still love my Nutella, but sticking to about 1/2 tbsp every other week or so...
McDonald's Big and Tastey with cheese and mayo. Plus super sized fries.
Little Debbie snacky things, like 10 of them. Plus a handfull of 100 calorie packs.
Steak and shake anything. Cheese fries!
FRIED cheesecake.
I think only by the virtue that I work an extremely active job and go for about 12 hours a day I didn't actually physically explode, like flying fur on the walls. Good god, just typing about it makes me ill...
Wow! I wasn't alone in my quest to eat my weight in General Tso's Chicken. Just about everything that you all mentioned has passed these lips. I hardly ever ate just a few Oreos...it was always the entire package and not just a one time thing either. I ate whole chickens, the whole meatloaf, the whole bowl of mashed potatoes, etc. It was like I was trying to overdose on food. Do you ever wonder what made us all eat that way? For me, the desire to eat like that will always be inside me. But for now, I seem to have control over it.
I miss the giant, jumbo bags of M&M peanuts! aaaagggggghhhhhhhh!
And I've never been to Jack in the Box. Is that a regional restaurant?
2 family sized bars of chocolate.
McDonalds Veggie burger meal.
I used to be able to eat 4 or 5 yorkshire puddings at a time... Now one fills me up!
3 or 4 Veggie bacon sandwiches... man... I miss those!
Family sized Veggie Lasagna/Veggie Cottage pie/Veggie Shepherds Pie
Shakeaway Milk shakes - basically ice cream blended with anything you want (including cucumber. though why anyone would want a cucumber milk shake is still beyond me)
- beer (apparently i was quite the ladette)
- PBJs at night time
- starbucks toffee coffee frappuccinos
- cheese and mayo sandwiches :| what was i thinking?
- whole tubs of ben and jerry's
- entire bag of doritos (not the snack size bag, either)
- entire package of oreos, choc chip cookies, etc
- 12 or so graham crackers (the whole un-broken pieces) slathered in peanut butter and marshmallow fluff
- 2 or 3 pb and fluff sandwiches on white bread
- hitting fast food for all 3 meals, plus eating snacks
- whole bag of sweet 16 donuts (how do I love thee... let me count the ways...)
- a meal at Taco Bell - 3 soft tacos, a spicy chicken burrito, cheesy fiesta potatoes, 2 caramel empanadas
- a meal at McDonald's - double quarter pounder meal, large size, plus a 10 piece nuggets with ranch
- a whole medium thin crust pizza
- 2 or 3 american cheese and butter sandwiches on white bread
- whole bags of peanut m&ms - not the individual, but the big bags that are like 5"x8" or so
- large fries and a large vanilla milkshake (this is honestly my #1 favorite meal, and I will probably allow myself to have it once or twice a year, I love it that much)
- 4 or 5 chocolate dipped granola bars at once
- I'd get a huge bowl (like mixing bowl size), and take that, a box of cereal, and the gallon of milk to the living room, sit in front of the TV, and have myself a never-ending cereal bowl, many times til the box was empty
- a whole bag of Totino's pepperoni pizza rolls
- used to make a box of regular Kraft mac n cheese, then eat it all
- Cinnabon Caramel Pecanbon - 1100 CALORIES, 56 GRAMS OF FAT
- a loaf of french bread, a tub of butter, a knife and myself would walk into the living room... and only the plastic bread sleeve, the empty tub, the knife and myself walked back out
- 4 to 6 frosted strawberry pop tarts
- entire bag of cheddar cheese pretzel combos (not the small bag)
- used to drive to Taco Bell, buy two tubs of the nacho cheese, then go to Hardees and get a large curly fry to dip in it
- 2 or 3 packs of Little Debbie swiss rolls
- made brownies, then ate about 1/2 the pan
- a 6" meatball sub and 6" tuna sub from Subway, with a bag of chips and sweet tea
x17star17x this made me LOL: "I'd make 2 batches of cookies. One for the dough, one for the cookies. I'd take 2 baked cookies and put a ball of cookie dough between them, squish, and EAT. My cookie cookie dough sandwich. Gawd.." I cannot BELIEVE I never thought of this! LOL!!!
Looking at this list makes me feel quite uncomfortable. I can remember the "food denial twilight zone" I'd go into. I would know deep down that this was not normal or healthy, but I would smother those thoughts and completely ignore them and just stuff food zombie-like down my gullet. There are no doubt a hundred other things I can't even remember.
I never really ate bad but after a while I would just binge. Chocolate is my weakness!!! once I stop eating good I just couldn't stop. I would eat chocolate bars, brownies, chips, cookies and anything else I could find. Don't get me wrong I still eat all that stuff but I am eating it alot less these days.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
