Just had to share because I've been a bit frustrated lately because after losing 50 lbs, I've now plateaued the last 4 weeks after starting a cardio/weight training program (yes I know all the reasons, water retention, muscle gain, etc - still frustrating though!)

Any way, sometimes it takes an OMG moment to make yourself feel better and very proud of your accomplishments to date.

Mine was last night - I was a pretty big girl (up top too) and therefore used to never be able to actually wrap myself in a towel, tuck it in and walk around, therefore I rarely ever tried. Well last night I needed to walk out of the bathroom, so I wrapped the towel around me real quick. Not only did it fit around me, it overlapped a full 6 inches!!! I literally said OMG and my eyes teared up, I was so excited. My husband just kind of laughed at me, and said didn't you realize how much smaller you are now? Well, no not really. It was really a reality check.

So, anyone else have any OMG moments they'd like to share?

I haven't had an OMG moment yet, but I loved yours!  Congratulations!!!

Just a small one. No biggie because i've only lost 13 lbs and have been not doing well for several days now and am also depressed at the moment but yesterday I put on a pair of jeans that were always tight. They are the button snap up kind. Although they are made of a stretch material I wore them tight (not on purpose) and I thought wow these are fresh out of the dryer and I bet they will be big on me now. I slid them on and no they were not big at all. I was kinda bummed about that eventhough they did slide on easier.

Well later in the day as they stretched out a bit they were falling off of me. Before when they would stretch out they would not fall off but were still a bit tight. So now I have to get rid of these pants. I can no longer wear them.

Not necessarily an OMG moment but more of a hmmm interesting that they fit when I first put them on but now too baggy after wearing for 2 hours.

i wrote about one in my journal awhile back.  i was pondering the size of my jeans over the last couple of decades, and remembered this pair of levis that had been sitting in my closet (closets, actually; i've moved repeatedly) for the last decade or so, with the labels still on.  my mom had bought them for me for christmas and i was too embarrassed to return them or to tell her i'd gone up two sizes and they didn't fit.  so i just kept moving them and putting them in new closets.

anyway, just for the helluvit, i decided to try them on.  and they fit!  not just kinda, but totally.  i'm back to my late-20s size ;)

GREAT OMG moments!!!!  None so big for me yet, but i too asprie to the towel wrapping around me.  Congrats on all the hard work and finally REALIZING your results!

Keep up the hard work.

Woo hoo!  Let's hear it for being able to wrap a towel around oneself!!!

My favorite OMG moment was when I crossed my legs for the first time in 20 years!  Or was it when I could fit through a turnstile?  So many of them now!!!

Congratulations!

Awesome OMG moments =)

Mine was when I had lost about 60-70lbs and I was switching out the summer clothes in my closet for the winter.  I found this tote in my basement full of clothes that I couldn't quite give to goodwill yet because I liked them too much... so I start going through it and see all these cute little tank tops I had in highschool and I find a pair of jeans at the bottom.

The last time I had fit into these jeans was when I had first met Mark and he thought I was adorable then..right?  So, I try them on and they were too BIG!  I ran out into the living room and said, "Babe!!  My skinny jeans fit and I haven't worn these since we met!!!" and he said, "Duh, you're a lot smaller than when I first met you!"

I didn't wipe that smile off my face for the rest of the night =)

Whoohoo to everyone's OMGs!

Congrats on the OMG's.  These are great.  I can't wait to wrap the towel around. I can get it around the top but not the bottom.  That is my secret (not anymore) goal.

HI there,

I love the OMG moments posted so far! I have recently lost 50 pounds and my OMG moment would be when I tried to lift a 50 pound weight and couldn't even do it. My hiusband said, "And that's how much weight you were carrying around on your body!"

Sometimes you don't realize how far you have come until you can make that visual/mental connection.

My youngest sister now outwieghs me, and just about everyone at work has asked about my weight loss, even heard two of them talking about it in regards to their biggest loser contest. For the record i was 5'8 215, now i am 166. Best came today when my coworker asked about my workout routine, he was a little shocked that i do cardio for 1 hour 5 minutes, didnt bother to tell him that is just half of my workout.

we had an unusually warm weather day a few months ago and i pulled out my summer stash of clothes. I put on a pair of shorts that I never wore(comfortably at least) and a little tank top. I was shocked when I looked in the mirror-it was like i was a different person.

i have lost weight very very slowly over the course of years, so its hard to see real changes. I also get so down on myself sometimes that i am not yet at my goal, that it does me good once and awhile to remind myself of how far I have come.

Great to hear the other stories....

its times like that, that makes all the pain and frustration of exercising and eating right all worth it, eh?? I am so happy for you!!! Stories like this, provides many people with inspiration...Congrats!!  Keep up the good work and dont use all your free time walking around in a towel now...lol Wink

Everyone`s stories are so much fun to read!

My weight loss was just 20ish pounds so I don`t have any major OMGs, but a little one came when the pants I had that used to fit in high school, and were sitting in my closet for years because I loved them too much to throw them away, fit perfectly again.

That particular day I was very angry at myself for throwing away 90% of the awesome high school clothes I used to wear but grew out of.. -_-

I don't have any old photos of myself to compare to... so I just have my memories to tell me what size I was when, and that's a pretty dodgy indicator! But I brought a bunch of 'good' clothes with me when I moved to America and they've almost never been worn because we don't do a lot of formal stuff... but I wanted to dress up for our Anniversary, and all of the clothes I brought with me were too big! Waaaaay too big! Which tells me that I'm not imagining things or over-estimating because American clothes are larger than Australian ones - I'm smaller than I've been in probably 15 years.

I just started this week and I can't wait to wear corduroy pants and not hear the swish swish swish!  LOL!!

Just had another tiny OMG yesterday. :D I have these brown pants that are a bit stretchy, and since I shed the inches off my waist, when I undo the belt they come off without being unbuttoned or unzipped.

So I was in the bathroom and for some reason I thought I had them on, so I did my belt-undo slide-off maneuver, and after that came off I realised they were actually my one size smaller no-stretch blue jeans. Yay!

I had a "good" one a couple months ago, when I'd already lost about 50 pounds or so.  I knew all of my underwear was getting baggy, and that I'd have to replace them soon, but I hadn't gotten around to it yet.  One day, I had to run pretty hard to catch a bus.  By the time I got to the bus stop, my undies had slid down, with the waistband down around my thighs and only the crotch of my jeans holding them up.  That was the day I went and bought new undies.

these are awesome! now I am thinking of future hopeful "OMG" dresses hiding in my closet that I would love to slip on again. thanks!Cool

This made me smile so much!! I have been putting off buying smaller undies despite the extra room and I think I will get over it and go shop asap!
