Just had to share because I've been a bit frustrated lately because after losing 50 lbs, I've now plateaued the last 4 weeks after starting a cardio/weight training program (yes I know all the reasons, water retention, muscle gain, etc - still frustrating though!)

Any way, sometimes it takes an OMG moment to make yourself feel better and very proud of your accomplishments to date.

Mine was last night - I was a pretty big girl (up top too) and therefore used to never be able to actually wrap myself in a towel, tuck it in and walk around, therefore I rarely ever tried. Well last night I needed to walk out of the bathroom, so I wrapped the towel around me real quick. Not only did it fit around me, it overlapped a full 6 inches!!! I literally said OMG and my eyes teared up, I was so excited. My husband just kind of laughed at me, and said didn't you realize how much smaller you are now? Well, no not really. It was really a reality check.

So, anyone else have any OMG moments they'd like to share?

I had a "good" one a couple months ago, when I'd already lost about 50 pounds or so.  I knew all of my underwear was getting baggy, and that I'd have to replace them soon, but I hadn't gotten around to it yet.  One day, I had to run pretty hard to catch a bus.  By the time I got to the bus stop, my undies had slid down, with the waistband down around my thighs and only the crotch of my jeans holding them up.  That was the day I went and bought new undies.

Everyone has great OMG moments, but I gotta say this one's the winner!!!

Good job everyone!  Keep 'em comin'!

I had that moment too, now everytime I take a shower I do my lil towel dance cuz it actually wraps all the way around me..lol I had another moment yesterday I have been in plus size clothing for as long as I cant remember. So I thought I would venture into the clothing store because they have all the spring things out and try a few things on. well outta habit i go right to the plus size and say well for sure a 1x is gonna fit me now. Well i go into the fitting room and wooohooooooo I was swimming in the 1x I got to go to the regualr sizes :Does My Happy Dance: (AGAIN!)

Mine was recently when I looked down and realized that standing with my knees touching, there was a bit of a gap between my thighs. Not at the top, which I have never ever ever had, but in the middle, which was OMG enough.

I also very recently had the OMG towel moment and I can relate to you both on the weight lost (48 for me) and the plateau for the past few weeks. Keep up the great work!

I had a great one this weekend!  I went out with my husband for a date night. I wore a mini-skirt!  But that wasn't evern the best part!  We went to a small bar in the little town we live in.  I have not seen the owner in about 4 months, but we are familiar with each other.  She was being kind of rude to my husband, but I didn't really think much of it.

I have lost about 65 lbs. in the last year, but I also chopped my hair off, and had contacts in, so I looked pretty different.

After about 30 minutes, she says "Oh wow!  You cut your hair!!"

The whole time she thought my husband had brought another woman out! She was giving him dirty looks, and checking out his wedding ring!

I've had a bunch over the past year too...a couple of faves:

Seeing a sweater sale in a regular store, too good to to pass by even though I've only shopped at plus-size stores my entire adult life....trying stuff on and hoping...OMG they fit!! My bf bought me about a dozen sweaters. I cried.

Seeing my collarbone for the first time

You know those big heavy 10 lb bags of potatoes? Realizing I have lost 7 of those off my body. Wow.

Wow, all of you are amazing! I cannot imagine the feeling of losing that much weight, you all must feel so much lighter!  That's great Laughing

Now, I've only lost around ten pounds, but most has been in my middle problem section (Thank goodness!) . My big moment?  I could twist my body around so I could actually see my tattoo on my back love handle.  It was awesome, considering I've never really been able to see it.

Growing up everyone thought that I looked like my mom because we were both pretty heavy. Chubby cheeks, thick in the middle, twins if I might add. After I lost 175 pounds, I knew I looked very different, but it wasn't until I saw my dad that I had an "OMG! I LOOK LIKE MY DAD!" moment. I never knew we had such similar features under my chubby cheeks. It was almost creepy :)

aww thats exciting! congrats. I'm still waiting for mine but I hope its just as good!

Last week I bought a pair of medium workout capris.  MEDIUM.  I haven't been a medium since High School.

As I was getting dressed this morning and tucking my shirt into my pants, my knucles pressed against an oddly firm bulge in my pants...at the back...not the front..lol.  It was one of those things where you kind of brush past it, you aren't really sure what it is and you are instantly filled with horror that something weird is happening to your body because you don't remember feeling anything like that there before.  Turns out it was the top of my butt...I guess all those hours at the gym are paying off...lol.

I had one a few weeks ago.

I was 'back to college' shopping at Old Navy when it happened.  They were having some sort of after christmas sale, I dodnt rememeber exactly, but I picked up a few shirts in XL and tried them on, and one at a timeI kept having to go back out and find Larges.

I must have made about six trips back and forth first trying on the XLs then having to bring them back and grabbing Ls instead.

Then, suddenly, it hit me.

It was pointless to keep picking up the XLs and trying them on first so I wouldn't have to do the dreaded scrounge around for a larger size.

I was a size Large.

I love these!

I sorta had another this weekend - I was washing jeans, and gave several pair of my daughters to her to put away.   She brought back down 2 pair "mo-om, these are yours"   I would have NEVER made that mistake even 3 months ago.

Wow.  These really made me feel a lot better.

Its been a rough day.  Thanks for the inspiring stories, ladies.  It was perfect.

I read this thread a few weeks ago, but hadn't had an OMG moment...well now I have!  My skinny jeans FIT even when I'm bloated with my "monthly friend".  Wow!  I couldn't believe it.  I wore them the whole week!

My OMG moment just happened friday night when I was at the bar with my mom, aunt, and cousin. Well we were all just standing around when I saw a friend that I haven't seen in a few weeks we chatted and went our separate ways. Well about 10 minutes later he walked back up to me and asked me if I have lost weight.. so far since the beginning of the year i'm down about 14 pounds but just him asking that is keeping me motivated to keep going.

I've also had the towel moment. I can wrap the towel around with out any gaps for a peep show!! Laughing

It was the first day of Grade 11, back in 2004.

I had these pair of grey dress pants that I wore to school (catholic uniform). I got them in grade 10, when I weighed around 182. They were extremely extremely tight, so I did not wear them very often.

After my decision to lose weight, I decided that on the first day of grade 11 I would wear those pants to school, thinking that they would be just a bit looser, and fit decently.

The morning of the first day rolled around, and I put the pants on.

And I was absolutely shocked.

The pants that had been, honest to God, bursting at the seams, were now falling off my hips, crumpling into a silky grey pile at my knees.

I guess to add to the shock factor, I ended up still wearing those pants to school (don't ask how). All day I was pulling them up. All day.

Thats how long the shock of affirmation lasted that I had finally done something I could be proud of.

(After that I was  just happy and proud...not so shocked. Haha.)

I have just a teeny tiny OMG moment - I can finally button the bottom button on my shirts.

I have not lost much weight yet.  But all the weight has come off my belly first.  If nothing else, I look better in my clothes.

I've also thought "OMG" because of feeling muscle or bone I couldn't feel or before. Especially on the ankles, knees, and lower back/upper glute.

OMG! That's me in the video?

OMG! Knee socks no longer cut of my circulation!

OMG! My face looks totally different in that old photo...that was taken last year.

(this ones for the ladies) One day I had thrown my seven layers of sports bras into the wash, like a ditz, because I was also on a time line to work out. So I chanced my run with a normal bra. And it was enough to hold'em steady! I almost cried over that one I was so happy.

... I thought I'd found a lump in my breast last night until my OH pointed out that it was my rib... That I was feeling through it.  Duh.  Guess the girls are losing weight along with me ;)
