I've been using this site for a few months but was always not sure of myself as to how many calories I was burning.
I've had it set at 'light.'
My day:
-Run warm-up mile (recorded as 'jogging').
-A set of push-ups, sit-ups, planks, etc. (not recorded).
-Do agilities: high knees, various skips, etc. (not recorded).
-Run (record it for how many minutes I was running at whatever speed I was running at, usually around 6 miles at 8:30mph).
-Strides: five 75m sprints (not recorded).
-Run cool-down mile (recorded as 'jogging').
-Sit/walk for 3-4 hours around my house.
-Walk to work, 10 minutes (not recorded).
-Work: I guess you could say my work activity is most closely related to waitressing, lots of walking, sometimes carrying heavy boxes of food, etc. for about 5 hours with 1 hour of sitting. (not recorded).
-Walk home, 10 minutes (not recorded).
So I was just wondering if I have my burn meter set right a 'light' and then record my running. I figured if I don't record things like agilities and strides the 'light' setting would take care of that. Although because I don't record my work, strides, push-ups, agilities, or my moderately-paced walk to work, I was wondering if maybe I could get away with my burn meter on 'moderate' and resume recording only my run, warm-up, and cool-down like I have been.
Opinions?
I think light is good. Lots of walking is what light activity is, then record the running. I personally don't know if I'm sedentary or light... I don't have a set schedule, job, etc. right now, I'm a teen so I'm out of school, but I live in the city so I walk a lot, but not every day, and I spend a lot of time reading during the day. Plus I'm a teen so my metabolism is different, so I really have no clue... I would put it at light but I don't want to overestimate.
Okay thanks. I'm a teen as well, so I was also wondering if teens naturally have higher metabolisms.
Anyone else?
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
