One year anniversary at CC - goal attained down 124 lbs

Quote  |  Reply

Happy anniversary CC.  I found this site a year ago & have been using it faithfully.  Through exercising, logging food and activity and using the exercise challenge, I am down 124 lbs and have reached my goal in one year.  I am amazed and grateful.  I never imagined a year ago I would be 150 lbs this December when I started at 274.

I returned to my home town yesterday & people say that 1/2 of me is gone.  I let them know its only 45%, but, it feels pretty good.  I hope all of you have good luck and keep logging and being honest with yourselves.  This calorie counting has  been a life saver, literally for me.

Hurray and happy anniversary to me.  Laughing

Well done, and thank you for posting this.  It's inspiring to see how you've changed.  Would you like to share some of the best things that have happened to you as a result of this journey?

As another poster said, it would be great for you to hang around cc while maintaining, too!

Congrats.  Even though I only started a couple months ago I feel that finding CC was one of the best things that ever happened to me.  Hearing success stories like your's is one of the key's.  Thanks for what you've done for me.  Congratulations again.

I'm not going anywhere. I need this site to now do the hard part, maintaining. It has been almost a week since reaching the point of goal, and I have been traveling and eating more "holiday" food, and still exercising. I weighed at the gym today and I am the same weight on a different scale. My clothes fit fine.

People with whom I'm visiting say that 50% of me is gone. Feels kind of nice, actually.

What advice to give you, humm. Find something that works for you. I gave up meat and now am pescatarian. I also eat mostly whole foods including grains and humongous amounts of fruits and vegetables. I still eat alot, but I eat lower density foods.

I have kept my fat intake really low, below 20%, which means virtually eliminating grease, oils and butter, my downfall. It also has meant staying away from my baked goods.

I have ceased eating for the most part processed, convenience foods, except boca burgery stuff, canned tomatoes, and golean cereals. I also have the same breakfast and bring the same lunch everyday to work which keeps me from having to think about what to do. It sounds boring, but I have eaten everthing before, and a taste will do me. I don't have to consume the whole thing. Thank G-d for a spouse who is the worlds best garbage can and will eat what I don't.

Good luck and happy new year.
wow...what a fantastic story...you look WONDERFUL and HAPPY.  I am so excited for you...and to be able to go back to your hometown and show off your new self is excellent.  Congratulations!
