One for us average height girls (5'5-5'8)
Hey! I've seen groups for the tall girls and the short girls but I have yet to see one for those of us who are average height =] I was thinking we could give each other some support, do weekly weigh ins, and whatever else that can help each of us reach our goals!
Weigh-ins are Friday! Use your measurements from earlier in the week if thats when you do it =]
I thought we could each fill something like this out, if you want to add more feel free!

Age: 31
Height: 5'5''
Start Weight and Date: 160 June 2008
Current Weight: 178
Goal Weight and Date: 145 June 2009
Weight loss History: Ive weighed around 160 for the past few years, but have had a horrible bout of depression the past few months and gained so much weight :( I'm passed all that now, and have began keeping a food journal to make sure that I'm eating healthy, and am limiting my calories to around 1200-1300 calories a day.
- Age: I'll be 28 in a few days.
- Start Weight and Date: 246 as of January 1st
- Current Weight: 228
- Goal Weight and Date you're hoping to reach it: I want to get somewhere between 145-160 not sure where yet. I've been trying to up my exercise starting this week. Today will make day 3 that 30 Day Shred has kicked my but! LOL!
- Weight Loss History: I've always been the chubby girl ever since junior high school or at least I felt that way. Back then I was a size 12 but when all your friends are a 0/2 it kinda gives you a complex. Ever since then it has been a battle. I'm sick of crash diets and want to lose this and keep it off this time.
- Your Weight Loss Plan: Stick to my vegan meal plan and up the exercise!
EDIT TO ADD: I weighed myself after posting this (today is my weekly weigh in day) and I've lost another 2lbs - down to 148! ![]()
oh yes!!! I've been dying to a height group I fit into! haha!! I'm 5'6''
- Age: 23 but I'll be 24 on the 7th!!
- Start Weight and Date: 159 lbs Summer '08
- Current Weight: 146.8 lbs
- Goal Weight and Date you're hoping to reach it: 130-135 by May '09
- Weight Loss History: I've always been around 130, but a new sedentary desk job really packed on the pounds!!
- Your Weight Loss Plan: I'm sticking to low carb, and working out 6 days a week. I'm doing C25K 3 days and weights the other 3.
age: 21, 5'7
start weight: 164 (jan 2009)
current weight: 163.5
Goal Weight and date: 140-150 by June 5th (my bday! which would be the best gift to myself)
Weight loss history: I was at 174 my highest last june and i knew I had to lose weight because being over weight runs in my family. My lowest was 128 when I was in HS but I also was only 5'4. I went down to 158 by August and then gained about 6lbs from november to now :(
Weight loss plan: only drink on the weekends. No eating past 9pm. Avoid junk snacking. Increase fiber intake (i've been researching how bad it is it have an unhealthy colon and its scary) Avoid eating just because other people are. and of course exercise more regularly.
I'm 5'6'', btw.
What a brilliant idea ![]()
- Age: 27, 5'7
- Start Weight and Date: 185 (1/2/09)
- Current Weight: 180
- Goal Weight and Date you're hoping to reach it: 150 by my bday 9/19
- Weight Loss History: Where do I start... lots of ups and downs but this I'm ready to stop the excuses and do something about my weight!
- Your Weight Loss Plan: Eat about 1500 calories per day including dairy, fruits and veggies. Stay active by going to the gym 3 to 4X a week.
- Weighting day: Friday
- Age: 24 (5'5")
- Start Weight and Date: 160, August 2008
- Current Weight: Don't know, I haven't weighed myself in mths (too depressing)
- Goal Weight and Date you're hoping to reach it: 125, September 22 2009 (projected date by Calorie Count) I don't wish to add additional pressure with a significant date as I normally would. Though I hope there's major progress by May - going on vacation to Latin America!!
- Weight Loss History: This is the heaviest I've ever been. I feel uncomfortable in my skin. I've always been active in dance, gymnastics, gym etc, however, due to a major decline in physical activity, entering the work environment and an increase in alcohol and food intake (social events) I gained some major weight - 26lbs (At my best physique I was 134lbs). There were times when I noticed the gradual weight gain and basically did nothing about it or when I did, felt discouraged because I didn't see significant results.
- Your Weight Loss Plan: I'm couting calories 1300 a day. Dail exercise - be it through workout videos, running and dance practice. I've also eliminated meat from my diet (would consume fish occasionally). My next goal is to avoid unnecessary sugars (i.e. soda, juice, alcohol).
lalalexi - your stats are very similiar to mine except that I'm older and my current weight is unfortunately higher.
Age:28
Start Weight and Date: 176, May 2008
Current Weight: 180ish
Goal Weight and Date you're hoping to reach it: 140-145, no idea as I'm having a hard time losing it (thyroid maybe an issue, getting that checked in a couple weeks!)
Weight Loss History: I was down to about 153 the summer before last. I think that's the lowest I have been since I was a little kid
Anyway, not completely sure what has happened, although I know I slacked off on the exercise and probably ate too much refined carbs and sugar. Currently I'm learning to be healthy and fit and try not to focus so much on the number.
Weight Loss Plan: I am working out at least 3 days a week, usually more like 5-6. I have cardio and weights and I'm working on the C25k (just started week 2!). I also drink about 2L of water daily along with green tea. For nutrition, I try to take in around 1750cal per day, concentrating on ratios of carbs/protein and fats. At the moment I'm not sure if it's the right number of cals (too much or too little) because as I mentioned the scale doesn't seem to be moving but I'm going to continue with the exercise because it makes me feel good and maybe things will start to trend down slowly (they say it take women a lot longer to lose than men).
Height: 5'6
- Age: 24
- Start Weight and Date: 168, September 22, 2008
- Current Weight: 150
- Goal Weight and Date you're hoping to reach it: 135-140, I was hoping to reach this goal by March 5th but it does not look achievable right now. I'm really trying hard for those last 10-15lbs but its proving to be more difficult that I thought it would be.
- Weight Loss History: I am almost 5'7 and weighed 180 at my heaviest. Last December I had my wisdom teeth out and got down to 175 just by not being able to eat solid foods. I joined a gym January 2008 and got down to 165 in June 2008 by taking Body Pump and step classes. I stopped going to the gym in July and come September was back up to 168. I started going back to the gym and got a personal trainer and now am 150lbs and trying to lose those last 10-15lbs.
- Your Weight Loss Plan: I run 4 miles about 3 times a week in the mornings. Twice a week I meet with my trainer to do weight training and after our session do 30 minutes of inclined walking on the treadmill or 30 minutes on level 10 at the elliptical. For nutrition, I don't count calories but try to eat 5 small meals a day and do not try to eat after 6pm. I limit my carb intake and try to eat lots of protein, but do not ban anything from my diet.
Height: 5'6-5'7
- Age:24
- Start Weight and Date: 152 on January 10th
- Current Weight: 147!
- Goal Weight and Date you're hoping to reach it: 135 by June 1st
- Weight Loss History: I was slim growing up, especially in high school. I gained a little weight in college when my figure filled out and I was very happy with my weight then (low 130s). Then I did a graduate program that was very time-intensive and I stopped exercising altogether (bad, I know). I gained a little weight but I'm not sure how much because I never owned a scale during this period of my life. This year I finished grad school and started a job where I spend long hours at a desk in front of the computer. After about half a year of working my clothes stopped fitting me and I was feeling sluggish and generally terrible. I bought a scale, and found that I was bigger than I have ever been before. Disappointing, but also very motivating.
- Your Weight Loss Plan: I have been exercising 5 to 6 days a week. Now that I am getting in shape I want to add in a weight training regimen on a few of those days. I have been counting calories and trying to eat healthier (which is hard for me because I'm a big bread and cheese fan, and have a sweet tooth as well).
I'm right on the boundary height wise at 5'8.5, but since that's not tall enough for the tall group, can I join in here? Pretty please?

- Age: 17
- Start Weight and Date: Erm... 31st December 2008, at 154lbs
- Current Weight: 147lbs
- Goal Weight and Date you're hoping to reach it: I haven't got an official weight goal, but I'm thinking around 130? I'll see how I feel when I get there!
- Weight Loss History: I do have a history of EDNOS, and I'm not ashamed to admit that. However, through recovery I gained quite a bit of weight, and I want to lose that the healthy way to prove to myself that it is possible, and that I do not have to starve myself to achieve a healthy weight on the thinner side of the BMI scale.
- Your Weight Loss Plan: Exercise 30-50 minutes a day, plus 3 hours of sport on tuesdays. I'm eating somewhere between 1500 and 2000 calories a day.
- Age: 26 5'5'
- Start Weight and Date: 225 in Sept. 2008
- Current Weight: 187
- Goal Weight and Date you're hoping to reach it: Around 140 by Jan/Feb 2010.
- Weight Loss History: I was an average weight a long time ago around age 15 about 140s, around then I started gaining weight partly due to bad eating habits and partly I think due to PCOS which I have had a problem with ever since. My bad habits continued til I was in the 180s after college and since then put on another 40 lbs. Eating pretty much whatever whenever.
- Your Weight Loss Plan: I have been eating healthier and trying to stay to around 1750 for Cals. I exercise 4-5 times a week ~ 30mins Pliates followed by 30-45 mins jogging on the treadmill. I want to eat more veg. too and start back lifting weights again which I phased out but want to start again.
Age: 22
start weight and date: Oct 14th 2008 134 lbs
current weight: 127
goal weight: 120
Goal weight and date you hope to reach it: i hope to reach it around... June i hope. I have been trying to stay out of the 130's for awhile now and i seem to be doing a good job.
weight loss history: like i said i've been in teh 130's for awhile but after awhile i ended up at 150 so i exercised like crazy until i ended up at 130 and that's where i've been sitting for awhile.
the plan: well. . . dance dance revolution is my real plan, i've been playing it 4-5 yimes a week for an hour along with healthier foods . . . that's all for now. i guess when it warms up i'll go back to jogging again. but for now... i'm from canada and winter is not to the time to be outdoors:)
Wow! Congrat to you all! Everyone is doing something to get themselves into better shape! And that is pretty much the biggest challenge! All the planning in the world won't help you reach your goals, action does! =]
I know we all do weigh-ins on different days but I was thinking we could have a day that we all check in on here. I'm thinking Friday since most everyone would have checked their weight for the week by then and if you weigh yourself early in the week it'll remind you of how far you come (or to buckle down if need be).
If everyone is okay with that we can start on the 6th!
So, how are you all celebrating your accomplishments?   ;
I've learned that celebrating a small weight loss with a huge, unhealthy dinner is not the brightest thing in the world... So now I've started celebrating more substantial accomplishments with girly spa things, a new book, or something for my house.
