Which one do you think I am?

 Sedentary

  • At work - you work in an office
  • At home - you're usually sitting, reading, typing or working at a computer
  • Exercise - you don't exercise regularly
 Light Activity
  • At work - you walk a lot
  • At home - you keep yourself busy and move a lot
  • Exercise - you participate in light exercise or take long walks

I get up every morning at 5am. I walk 15mins from home to work (with public transport in there) I am at my desk from 7:30am-5:30pm. I walk 15mins from work to home (with public transport in between) I am mom/wife from 6pm-10pm (includes playing with 3 year old son) I have a personal trainer 2x a week.

So do you consider that Sedentary or Light?  Cause it changes my cals/day from 1450 to 1200 depending on which I pick.

I'd say you're lightly active.  If you still feel you fall between the two levels, you could pick sedentary and add your extra activities and calories to that.  Or you could pick lightly active and eat just slightly fewer calories, maybe 1350.

If you pick sedentary, you can add in your own excercises when you do them. I would say sedentary cause you have a desk job.

I would say light. you walk for 30 minutes a day and have a 3 year old. when you work out with your trainer, add that to your activity log.

If you are on your feet continually from 6-10 at homeI would say light.  I know that I do NOT get an opportunity to sit down with kids and a house to look after and I don't know how working mums fit it all in! If you are go go go from 6 till 10 definitely light!

I second what julz85 suggested.

I was thinking of  maybe trying 1200 cal for a few days to see if that does anything... I'm just not seeing  the weight come off like I thought I would - so thought  maybe 1450cal was too much.  On the days I have my PT if I eat 1300-1400 that should be good.... right?

Try one for a week or two and see how it works with your life. The issue is not how much you burn, but how you feel about your rate of weight loss.
