Okay. Well I'm Going To Be Doing Cheerleading This Upcoming School Year, This Will Be My Third Time Doing Cheerleading. I Want To Be A Flyer Too. Like A Birdie. I Know I'm Weird. I'm Thirteen 3/4. Yeah I Know. I Can Wear Double Zeros In Skinny Jeans And They Still Fall Down. I Weigh Like 110. I Wanna Be In The 90's. Do You Think I Should Try To Go Down Or Just Stay. Oh And If I Should, Try-outs Are On April 13th.

It's really unlikely that at 110lbs (7st 12lbs) you're overweight.  So I'd suggest you don't need to lose weight.  Cheerleaders and flyers (trapeze?) need strength, stamina and agility.  Thin, feeble and weak doesn't cut it.  So rather than judging yourself by the bathroom scales think in terms of good nutrition, good health and a strong body.   As you're 13 years old your body is still growing... internally, externally, physically, mentally. Good food and plenty of it (rather than low calories) will help that natural process continue in a healthy way.

You don't need to be extremely light to be a flyer. I'm a flyer too, and like gi-jane said, the most important is strength, agility and also flexibility. If you're weak, you will not be able to stay on the pyramid or do a ''lib''. Believe me, I've been there. There was a time where I had no strength at all and staying focus was very difficult.

My coach always say that even if you are 90 lbs, you can seem really heavy for the bases if you're weak. A 110 lbs girl with strenght will seems lighter.

And if you are able to wear 00, I really wonder why you want to lose weight just to be a cheerleader.

*Sorry my english sucks, hope you'll understand :)*

I think you should stay the same, because flying isn't about weight, it is about technique. My friend and I weigh the exact same, but she is a flyer. She has better technique. Stuff like being tight, pushing off, and staying "in your cylinder", and pulling up will help take the weight off your bases without having to shed those pounds. :)

For example, I used to base a 95 pound girl. Because she is not tight, she usually feels a lot heavier than my friend (who is around 120).

So bottom line, you seem like a healthy size, and like the person before me said, all I would worry about is your strength. (And technique). :)

I agree with what everyone is saying!

I am a cheerleader also, and i have always been a base. Flying has NOTHING to do with how much you actually weight, it's all about how you can hold your weight.

There is a girl on my team who has an ED and probably weighs about 90 pounds, but when she flys she feels much heavier than this other flyer who probably weighs around 130.

I know that i am just repeating what everyone is saying but it really comes down to technique, not your weight. Also, cheerleaders get a bad rap for having eating disorders and getting down to unhealthy weights, so try to beat this stereotype! haha!
