Say one positive thing about yourself!

Quote  |  Reply

Okay, here's the deal.  I'm 49 years old (egad - almost 50) and I have decided to change one major thing in my life.  I am not going to beat myself up anymore. I am my own worst critic and quite frankly I'm tired of it.

When we try and watch what we eat and "fail" then we tell ourselves how terrible we are.  Or if we try and work out, but we don't reach our expectations, then once again we feel we are the scum of the earth.

So, everyone of us should say something good about ourselves.  Something we like about our bodies, our relationships with other people, how we do our jobs, what good parents we are - SOMETHING!!!!!

Just try it - believe me, you will feel better!

I am committed to weight loss, healthy food choices, and exercise.  If God be for me, who can be against me?

BTW,  there's a bull on the PBR (professional bull riding) circut named bodacious.

Okay I'm up for this! People (even when I was slim) said my eyes were my best feature and so whenever I go out I like to accentuate them Laughing

Lord have mercy, I've been called a lot of things, but a bull wasn't one of them!  LOL  That just tickled me to no end.

I forgot to put in my positive thing when I first posted - I have a great sense of humor!

Shoot.  I'm just awesome!  lolWink

Hi Bodacious 1, I just turned 50 in April and I liked your comments. It does make you feel good to say something good about yourself once in awhile.  Instead of always beating yourself up all the time. The something good about myself that I can think of is I'm a good Mom. I have two sons that are just everything to me and I would do anything for them within my means and within the Law Ha Ha !! Hope you have a great day!! You sound like your lots of fun.  Smile

This is a great thread!! I'm 20 and like to stay positive!

I get quite shy about saying good things about me because I think people will think I'm vain but I think my best feature is my face, it's always been the same, never got bigger with weight gain and I've had people tell me I was beautiful, it makes me feel great when I hear things like that!

Everyone should say a good thing about them because it makes you feel better about everything! Annd if you have a bad week and feel upset then you can check here, see you're best thing and smile =)

alice_88 - you are gorgeous!  WOW, if my son were just a few years older... (he's 16) Well you know what I mean.

truebluesue - what a great mom you are!  I have 2 teens (the other is a 14 year old girl) so I know first hand how much your kids mean to you.

and lynne213 - darn right you're just awesome - we all are!

the_dragon - what color are those gorgeous eyes?

soskmb - good for you and your commitment.  I truly believe God has made all of us His special angels to show others that we can overcome even the greatest of obstacles.

Hi bodacious1 (still love the name!), my eyes are hazel, flecked through with green and slightly almond in shape Laughing

Bodacious guy...I like your thread! You made my day...just by reading it!!! This is very encouraging to say the least. I think since I started here on CC...I think about food and exercise ALL THE TIME...to where I forget to just enjoy and not stress out. New lesson for me...actually enjoy my weight loss journey and be proud of the commitment and changes I have made.

Good things about me:  Physical: Even though Im big, Ive got some nice curves! lol Did when I was small too. Personally: Im a pretty compassionate person would do just about anything for anyone....sometimes even when they dont deserve it.

Kickout-

When it's all said and done, people will remember how you made them feel, not what you looked like.  So, compassion is a great quality to have. Many lack it these days.

Kissmy eyes are the best about me but they are hidden behide glasses i need to change had them last three years ... lol

kickout - we all need a compassionate person in our lives - am so glad you are on this thread...

lostnewbie - perhaps contacts?  But then again I wear glasses and can't seem to fathom how I would stick something INTO MY EYES... Something not quite right about that, even though people say they see better once they use them.

Hope everyone has a positive day!

yes cheddar, your eyes are beautiful.  I saw your pics - especially like the one with the Elton John glasses!

I am a crafty and creative scrapbooker:)

I get a lot of compliments on my eyes and complexion. If I had to go for personality trait it would be sweet and patient.

I think this is an awesome thread btw, it's not often that I really focus on my good features.

Thanks!!!

jessica - could you help me with your craftyness? (is that even a word?)  I do bead work, but most of the time I draw absolute blanks as to what to do with all these beads!  I admire scrapbookers - I'm lucky if I get the pictured developed! LOL

dith - you do have beautiful skin and eyes.  What's your secret?

Hope everyone has a positive day!

Bodacious1, I don't do beads much. have used the small small crystally looking ones as sprinkles for a bday cupcake on a scrapbook page, put it on some white puffy paint looked like icing and sprinkles :) Smile
