No, it is not possible! You drank many liquids and probably alcohol and you ingurgitated a big quantity of food. Take two days of many liquids (water this time:), salads, fruits and light yoghurt and you will go almost back to your 18 pounds lost. Well... maybe only 16 now:).

The problem is that once you lose weight, you body does not "forget" instantly your old weight so it tends to go back to it. So just be careful with the maintainance period after you lose as much as you want.

Have an easy counting:)

I believe the liver holds fluids after drinking for a day or two. If you go right back to you're diet(not starving yourself) you should see that weoght go away in a day or two. Not sure of the actual physiology taking place but water retention after heavy drinking is common...and add some high sodium Chinese and your weight goes up.

You would have had to consume 28,000 calories  to "really" gain 8 pounds.  More n' likely it's the sodium ingested from the Chinese!  You had alcohol chasers instead of water to help flush the sodium from your system.  Hope you had a great time! Cool  I hate that when it happens!  Get through the Super Bowl festivities, and Monday, go back to your normal healthy eating.  The Super Bowl can be as detrimental to ones nutritional goals as Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year!  Eat well my friend.  All will be well soon!

It's not possible.  I agree with the above post. the alcohol and chinese food have large amounts of sodium which make you retain "stuff" and it won't flush out of burn out of your system for a day or two.

I ALWAYS gain 2 -3 pounds after a night out...even if I just have 2 glasses of wine! Two days later - it's gone.

Remember, dieting is a slow process. I believe that if you do it correctly AND still want to have fun, you may gain a pound here or there in the process, but as long as you had fun and plan on getting right back on track - it's alright.

Don't worry! I'll be drinking tonight as well...and will probably have gained a few pounds by morning!!

you need to factor in water weight and the weight of food...

i'm 108 pounds and after a big family dinner i fluctuate up to 112......and i probably weigh less than you seeing as i am a small framed girl 5'4

weigh yourself in the morning.....or maybe wait a day until you get back into your normal routine.

count your calories and youll figure out how much weight you've actually gained....i used to be obssesive but then i realized to actually gain a pound in 1 day for me i would have to eat 5000 calories (3500 more than my basal metabolic rate)....so if you seriously think that youve eaten 28000 calories worth of food i would be amazed.....don't worry too much about it....
