Any one from TEXAS on CC?
I have been seeing threads for various other states but haven't seen one for Texas yet.
So, I thought I would start one! :)
I think it would be great for Texans to have their own thread so that we can motivate each other to keep up the weightloss journey.
So share a little information about yourself, how you ended up on CC, and what you are doing that works best for you on your weightloss journey.

I'm a texan.....houston to be exact ;)
I live in Texas, but since I was not born here I cannot call myself a Texan, and I'm not what anyone would call "naturalized." If you are a native, you'll know what I mean.
I am originally from Massachusetts, but I have been living in San Antonio for 17 years now.

I am a Texan, also in DFW area. 45 years old and have lost 59.5 pounds to date!
Sounds like you are right down the street! My son is going to Karen Dillard classes in your area. And thanks for the congrats! I have a long way to go but much less than when I started.
According to the website, I am about 70 pounds from goal. Now, this is the goal that was "given" to me by the site and since I haven't seen anywhere near that weight since I was in my early teens, I have no idea if that is where I want to be. So for now, I am in the journey until I feel I am where I should be. I know it will be a while, but I am in no hurry. We have made some significant changes in our lifestyle and are pretty comfortable with them.
So what is your story? How are you doing?

It sounds like you are doing great! Congrats and good luck on your goal.
undertherainbow: Wow! How did you end up in Texas from Mass?
My mother moved here in the 1970s.
I decided to move here when I could not find any work in Massachusetts... I'd been unemployed for over a year and couldn't stand it anymore. :-)
I almost forgot to follow your instructions on telling more about myself. *Grin*
My doctor informed me that I had high cholesterol. I gained weight when I quit smoking. Kill two birds with one stone. So, I ended up here at C.C.
Exercising regularly and eating reasonably have been what works for me. I've lost 13 pounds and have 10 more to go.

My goal is 140...I just hit ONEderland this morning at 199! I began my journey in March at 225.
I've been learning to eat healthy and my diet is pretty much sugar free. I was always such a sugarholic I never knew what it was like to feel good because I was in a sugar dump.
Now I have a small group of ladies that I've met online and we created a website to be able to support each other through our weight loss struggles and triumphs. It's been pretty great!
I'm learning to run now...much easier said than done. I have a whole new respect for all those joggers I see every day. I just keep plugging away and I think I'm actually getting a little better. But some days are definitely better than others!
