Has any one used slim fast and lost weight
I have tried everything and I have a friend who says she lost weight with slim fast ... But she has a flavor for the dramatic so I figured I would ask here.. Thanks
i personally would rather have food, then a slimfast drink ,if you choose wisely you can have quite a bit for the same cals as in slimfast shake,
to answer your question my friend tried slimfast and as was really hungry so she was having the shake and then bingeing by the end of the day,so was consuming more in the end then what she normally did,
im 44 and for yrs ive tried every fad going anything for quick weight loss, only to put it back on many times over and more, honestly jackie the only way to do it is a healthy eating plan and exercise, even a brisk 30 min walk can make a diffrence,i dont deprive myself either its all in moderation, ive lost 39 pounds since july 1st,so dont waste your money on the shakes ![]()

Oh wow good for you.. I work allot of hours and I need something that is quick and I thought this would help... Some nights I don't have time to pack my lunch. Do you have any idea's...?
i have a friend who lost about 50 pounds on slimfast, but it was only a small component at the begining of her program - sort of a jump-start. she started running five days a week and doing aerobics and weight training at home on weekends, and she totally changed her diet from lots of processed carbs and crud to whole foods. oh - and she left her loser redneck a$$h0le husband.
try and get organized especially if your just starting,it makes a lot of diffrence, lots of people plan there menus a week in advance so they no what there eating and what to shop for etc,i tend to do mine a few days in advance as it suits me better, try and make a lunch to take with you even if you do it the night before and keep it in the fridge,at least then your no whats in it(no hidden extras) and your no your calorie count, ive always got a little pot of almonds and a few raisens, and 2 bits of fruit in my bag,
even if i go to my daughters for the day i always take my own lunch,![]()
haha pgeorgian, last time i weighed 133 pounds was when i kicked out my 1st hubby, mind you that was about 15yrs ago now.
Yes, I have, and I lost weight. It seemed to be a real struggle to keep from constantly feeling hungry. It also seems way to expensive for my budget. Slim Fast, like all other weight loss products has it's ups and downs. I prefer to eat regular food and learn moderation as opposed to constantly buying "products". Oatmeal for breakfast is cheap and healthy and I can buy 3 boxes of Quaker Oats that will last over a month for the same price as a can of powdered Slim Fast that only has 13 servings.
Why bother? Yo-Yo dieting never works. Better to change how you eat. Clean/balanced, something you can stick with the rest of your life. Slim Fast is not good for you. Don't look for quick fixes. Just end up gaining it back in the end. Use the calories on food. For 220 calories you could have a sweet potato and some tuna or cottage cheese and salmon, or a chicken salad. Better to make healthy food choices and loose weight slowly. Educate yourself on proper nutrition and you will loose weight. Workout 4-6 days a week and lift weights 3 of those days.
The diet makes no sense to me. Liquid calories are "empty" calories. Body just doesn't seem to register them, so they are not very filling. Seems like on the slim fast diet person would be hungry all the time.

Hm, I must be the only one. I've lost 46 lbs now and do the shakes. I honestly love the stupid things and get excited about drinking it every day. I'm not even remotely hungry either. I'm doing the high protein chocolate and loving it! I think I'd probably keep drinking it when I'm done with the "diet" part of my "calorie awareness" :)
Maybe it's just me.
I actually use Slim-Fast Shakes on mornings where I don't have time to fix breakfast, they are really good and CC grades them an A for nutrition. I also like their optima bars and snacks they are really good too and the ones I've used are also graded A's.

I bought a tub of the Slim-Fast Optima in Chocolate Royale, and I absolutely love it!!. I actually chose to buy the mix because I wanted something to replace my nasty protein shake. I only use it once a day, so Im not really doing slimfast. They have changed the drink a lot so it gets me really full. Its really weird that a drink can make me full.
Anyway, like I said I only use it in the morning, basically because its convenient for me. Then I eat lunch and dinner. I dont count calories, I just eat healthy and within reason.
Ah I started out with Slim fast shakes! I bought the cans and didn't find myself hungry really. I did the 1 for breakfast and that was pretty much all she wrote. And then a lean cuisine for lunch. But I did find that eating 'real' food was more filling and lasted longer in the stomach. They do taste pretty good on occassion. I think I stuck to slim fast for... 3 months?.... Dieted for 16 in total doing my OWN thing away from slim fast and lost 175 pounds. So they work.. but it's just the same calorie reduction routine.
I lost 65 lbs after I had my son using Slim fast, but like another poster said, it was just part of the program. It worked for me because I tend to rush from the gym to work and it was quick breakfast. I'd have a mid-morning snack- either an optima bar or fruits/veggies and depending how I felt at lunch I would have another shake or an actual meal. Dinner was always real food. I also had to up my liquid intake, partly to fill my stomach, and partly to keep my digestive system moving. In addition I was working out 4-5 times a week, and hiking on the weekends.
As far as microwave meals go, Lean Cuisine always leaves me hungry- Weight Watchers Smart Ones were always the most filling for me.
Good luck, and I hope you find something that works for you!
Hi
I have been using slim fast as part of my weight loss program, I drink it most mornings, have a mid morning protein bar Met-rx and have a healthy home made lunch that for you would be dinner (I live in Mexico) then for dinner I have a slim fast or the equivalent of 220 cals on real food I have lost 34lbs since august 7th 2008, but I do CC, log every day zigzag calories and exercise a LOT.
As a product i think its healthy, tasty and if you need something fast or pre calorie counted I think its really good and I'm not hungry with it.
I have done it before, but only when I didnt have time to eat something substantial. Its def. not healthy to do all the time I wouldnt think, but they really do fill you up. I would say its fine if you continue to eat other healthy things and workout too
I tried it a few years back when I was trying to quit smoking and lose weight. At first things were great, I lost everything I had gained after quitting. But once I got off it, a gained the most of it back within a few months.
