It's not too late to eat (what time is it where you are?). Have a few tablespoonfuls of peanut butter or something.
The notion that calories eaten after 8 pm or whatever time will somehow magically make you gain weight more than calories at other times of day is hogwash and has been debunked.  500 calories is too little for one day, so I would sit down and have something to eat.  Not saying you should force yourself to eat enough to meet your calorie limit for the day, but at least eat enough so that you don't go to bed terribly hungry.
I agreee... look for a couple of bites (at least) of something satisfying and higher calorie...

cheese and crackers

peanut butter sandwich

slice of pizza

Just something quick and easy.  It's worse to NOT eat tonight than it is to eat this late.
Thanks for all the info. I have always been worried to eat after a certain time. I am on a very low calorie diet with the help of a weight loss doctor but I seem to be having a hard time eating all 1000 calories in one day. Or I eat 200 more calories then supposed to. This diet is going to have to take some getting used to. Being 9pm here I was worried to eat something. But I had some chicken with brown rice (leftovers) which hit the spot. Thanks again for your advice.
Just go to bed, I swear it's always the safe move.  And then you'll actually be legitimately hungry in the morning!  If you have things you need to get done before bed, go do them NOW, don't watch TV (that's when you tend to eat mindlessly), and then go to sleep.  Good luck!
As others stated, it's never "too late" to eat. It's all about total calories in vs. totally calories burned, not what time of day you eat. 500 calories is way too low, so I'm glad to hear you at least had the chicken and rice.
1000 calories a day sounds way too low.  I know that you said a weight loss doctor was helping you but i encourage you to get a second opinion.  I have read that anything under 1200 a day will actually cause your body to hold onto every calorie and store it (thinking that it might be starving and trying to protect itself).  I started at 188 pounds and lost 20 pounds over 4 months by eating around 1400 calories a day, all "clean foods."  Hope this helps.
