Today I ate only just over 900 calories, but I am still really full. I have put everything in and double checked it. I really dont want to eat just for the sake of eating the right number of calories but is it bad for me to eat this amount of calories?

As long as this is an isolated event, it probably won't do you a lot of harm. Maybe you should pre-plan tomorrow in your food log, to make sure you get enough calories? If what you're eating makes you full too quickly, try adding some fats, butter, oil, peanut butter, etc.
trust me.. please... you do want to eat more calories. ive been dieting and only eatting 900 calories daily for quite some time, and my body is in starvation mode. it sucks like real bad lol. :) Just eat a piece of peanutbutter toast or something. You will actually lose less weight by eatting this number of calories. Make sure its at least over 1200.
Eat more and don't let it happen again. It will seriously mess with you if you keep it up. I completely stopped losing weight. Only once I brought my calories BACK UP did I start to lose again.
I agree eating less than 1100-1200 cals atleast on a weekly basis is bad... but I don't think you will not lose weight doing it.. how else would someone with anorexia lose weight?
because anorexics do it consistently... but as soon as calories are increased=weight gain
you will lose weight until your body hits starvation mode. Thats when the battle begins. I'm in that battle right now and its truly not fun. :) so while you have a good head on your shoulders, just find something to fill up that gap and you will do better for yourself. Dont let your metabolism suffer.
if I understand the original post, this was not a planned 900 calorie day. Perhaps you should clarify that, brownpaperbag. Did you have more food planned, but you filled up and just don't want to eat the rest? Or is this what you plan for every day?
Running on very low calories will make your body focus on hanging on to fat and chucking muscle. Muscle burns calories so by getting rid of them your body thinks it's helping you to survive the period of starvation you're putting it through.
Lost muscle mass and holding on to fat means higher body fat percentage and less lean appearance.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I'm trying to eat more today but I've really lost my apetite recently. manewell I didn't plan on eating only 900 calories yesterday, although I do normaly try to keep my intake under 1200, I still have that idea in my head that less calories = better, even though I know its not the case
I have been at an average of 930 calories per day since feb. 27th. I work out 6 days a week for a 1/2hr. a day. Lost 11lbs. so far. I have been eating 5x a day since i started..which i have not ever done in my lifetime. I feel like i did in high school, except I have alot more weight to lose. If i need to keep my calories around 1200 what time of day should i add those extra calories? After dinner around 6pm.. I eat nothing for the rest of the night, and want to keep it that way...thanks in advance.. :)
Jace, 1200 might not be enough calories for you considering your activity level. You need to use the tools to determine your individual caloric needs. Nobody here can tell you how much is enough.
