I only have 45 min in the morning to work out at the gym.

I need ideas on a great workout for that amount of time.  Maybe a plan for the week to get the best results.

what are you trying to do lose weight tone muscle build muscle?

I sometimes like to do 30 mins cardio-you could do this 10 mins cycling, 10 mins cross trainer 10 mins treadmill or 30 just on one and then 15 minutes for weights and sit ups, but like jdunckel says it depends on what you are trying to do, what you have access to and enjoy!?

Also dont forget to build in a 5-10 minutewarm up  a 5 minute cool down and 5 minutes of streching minimum

Who imposed the 45 minute restriction on you?

Her need for sleep?  :-)  A job that starts very early combined with opening hours at the gym?  I can think of lots of reasons that a person wouldn't have hours of free time to be working out in the morning.  Not everyone is a morning person who can get up at 4am and still be functional.

Honestly, you can get a great workout in 45 minutes.  I really don't see that part as a problem.  5 minutes warm-up followed by 15 minutes of free weights followed by 15 minutes of intervals (for cardio) leaves 10 minutes for cool down and stretching.  Or, if she can workout for 45 minutes every day, do that three times a week and a more traditional cardio workout on two or three others.

Do NROLFW three times a week, cardio on your two off days.  45 minutes is plenty, just leave enough time to get to work on your shaky legs.

And eat a protein packed breakfast of course
