Weight Loss
Moderators: duke3522, devilish_patsy, topanga1485, nycgirl, spoiled_candy, cmillington, coach_k Am I the only one??
I've been using this site for a few weeks now, and really love it. I generally read the forums daily (at least during the week)...but, I'm in need of loosing a lot more weight than most people on here. Am I the only one out here like that!?
I started dieting in March of 2005- I went to the Dr., and weighed over 330 pounds! I couldn't believe it! Today, I weighed 237. I've lost almost 100 pounds in under a year. I look better and feel better.
I'm still quite young- I'll be 28 this year. I guess, I'm writing this, because I feel that most people I see writing on here need to loose 20 pounds or so.. I have a lot to loose, yet. My goal is to reach 175- so I have 62 pounds to loose yet. Is there anyone else out there in the same boat? or am I alone in the ocean on a raft??

I dont think you are alone. I am one of those that needs to lose 20 lbs but the thing is its hard to lose that last little bit. I have to watch my calories and workout hard. Im at a plateau and its driving me crazy. Working out hard and not losing is tough, tough enough to quit. We are all here for you!
It doesn't matter how much you have to loose. We are all in the same boat of wanting to loose weight and start a healthy lifestyle. It seems to me you are well on your way to that. Congrats on how far you've come so far.
You are in no way alone!!
Keep going and look to this board as a means of support and motivation.
Good luck :)

Hi, you are not the only one. I am 40 and have 80 lbs to lose. At least that's what the doctor says. I think maybe 50. But that will come in time. add me to your friends and we'll do this together. Walking is what has helped me.

You are not the only one. I'm 27 in Toronto, I started at 205 lbs and I want to get to between a range of 150 lbs to 130 lbs (depending on muscle).... mainly I want to fit into a size 9 again (I'm fairly tall so this is a challenge)...
I'm just below 200 lbs now (in the last week) so I've got at least 50 lbs to go, and as much at 70 lbs.
I'll be here for awhile.

You've lost nearly 100 pounds - that is so amazing. I so admire and respect that, more than I can express. You obviously are not alone and are an inspiration :).
From my heaviest to my goal weight I will be losing a total of about 50 pounds and I am halfway home. I know what a struggle just that amount has been so I am in awe of anyone that can say they lost 100. Go you!

Hi Beckab00!!
You are not alone!!! I currently weight 244 and my goal is 130-140. I am 5'4" so this really big on my frame! My goal of losing this 114 lbs is slow and steady. I do agree with the other post regarding the last 20 lbs, it can be tough, however it is a different feeling when you have 100 lbs plus to lose. You can count on me to be there and support you along the way!
However, AWESOME on your current weight loss! That is superb and you can do it, we can lose this weight together. I am going to add you to my friends list!
I am 26 and I live in Alabama. :)
Kudos,
Natasha

That is great!!! 100 lbs - you are to be commended! You are not alone. I am 39 and I have 75 lbs to lose. I just started last week and have lost 5 pounds so far. I also really love this site and you can add me to your friends list too. I don't know how to use the friends list yet....but I'll figure it out eventually.
I think we all have our own hurdles - If we can stick together it certainly can't hurt!!

CONGRATS on being such a success! I only need to lose 10-15 lbs and find myself totally unmotivated and not really up to the challenge.... I work on Wall St and have way too much stress and too little time in every day. Maybe everyone else is right... doesn't matter how much you have to lose... we all have the same goal of getting on that scale week after week a little lower than the week before.... If you have tips of the trade they would be MUCH appreciated.... I need every bit of encouragement as the rest....

How neat, Donna...(igogoin) what part of Alabama? I am in Millbrook.
100lbs is amazing! Great job!
I am 29 (30 in few months) only 5'3" and my goal is to lose at least 60lbs. My highest weight was 205. That was a wake up call because even when I was pregnant I didn't weigh that much. Being short its like every pound is on display. And I carry all my weight in the middle so I have these funny chicken legs and a big round middle with no waist to speak of. But that will slowly change. My present jeans are beginning to feel loose and I am down almost 12 lbs. Today has not been a good day - those chocolates were just calling my name! But I am pleased that I didn't indulge to the point I would have in the past. It was still too much but its only one day. I'll do better for the rest of this one and back on track tomorrow.
Thanks for being an inspiration and share some of your most sucessful tips with us!
Keep goin girl!

You are not alone, but I can understand you feeling that way. I have felt the same. I have about 120 lbs to lose. I commend you on the amount of weight you have lost so far.
By now I think you can see you are not alone. I only have 85lbs to lose but I'm sure I will be here to cheer you on. I'll be 25 this year and so far since I started my life change I have lost 45 lbs. Thanks to this site, my treadmill, my Bowflex and a ton of will power. Any way keep up the great work it really inspires me to make it to my goal of 130.
NO one that knows about this site is alone! It is so great that you can post a question or comment and get so much feed back from people with the same issue who support and understand what you are going through. I love this site!!
I am 21 years old, the prime of my youth and i am overweight it is such a burden in my life and my relationship!
Just know that you will never be alone!

As has been said so many times on this board, I think the best thing that we can give each other is support and motivation.
It is that feeling of being "the only one" on a diet, the only one that needs to diet that causes so much negative energy and depression and allows us to feel like we can't do it.
Reading almost any daily newspaper should tell us that we are not alone. Tonnes of people are trying to shed weight, no one wants to be overweight.
As long as we are all here we know that we are all working together and learning together and make a community of strong healthy people.

I applaud you! Not only are you willing to make the lifestyle change but you have already shown the will to keep it going! You have made a great stride to your goal and I hope you keep it up. I only need to lose around 50 more pounds but at one time also weighed in the upper ranges. Over times of failed diets and criticism, you have to find yourself in there somewhere. I am glad I found this site and hope to have the success too! I am 40 years old and used to being a stay at home woman that eats out of boredom more than anything else. Keep up the good work!
So proud. So proud. I am glad you have lost almost 100 pounds. So proud. I am one of the 20 pounds or so people and believe me we are in the same boat. It might take you longer to get to your goal but we most likely feel the same way about getting there. So proud of you. huggers to you and your success
