About 3 years ago (I think it was in July too) we saw Bret Michaels by himself at a club in Springfield. Jaxx - that was the place. It was strange seeing these young kids getting off on old Poison songs.

You know, with few exceptions, I don't know how many 80s bands I'd really actually get into, ya know?

The question, of course, is does REM count as an 80s band? U2? Aerosmith?

I'd see them, probably like them

But the Romantic or the J. Geils Band or Toni Basil? Eh....

U2 is a 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s band ...

Indeed. I'm not a HUGE U2 fan, but I'd probably enjoy a concert. I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy Aerosmith or Alice Cooper as well. I like enough of their stuff.

I think some 80's bands transcend the decade and therefore are exempt from general disdain.

I'd see the Crue, though...dude.

But.. once you get past "Mickey", do you really CARE what Toni Basil is doing?

I saw U2 once ... I actually wasn't as big a fan before seeing them as I was after.  It really was a fun show.

i wanna go see john mayer

and take daughter

:)

oh no - the phone/internet company is here

i love you guys!  i'll miss you!!!

*likes Jimmy Fallon's impression of John Mayer*

Hope you're back soon, Nomo!

I prefer U2's "B-sides" to their anthems, so ... although seeing them live was teh_awsum, I wouldn't go out of my way to see them every chance I got.
I'd be too prone to moon over John Mayer, which for reasons explained yesterday, is too cougar-ish for me.

Aww man, LA Guns & Faster Pussycat are going to be at Jaxx 7/19.

I would really like to see Kix (at Jaxx on 9/12).

The risk of seeing U2 live is if they perform anything from Pop

Heeheehee.

There are some newer bands I'd enjoy seeing, I think. Old 97's comes to mind, and Drop Kick Murphys. Southern Culture on the Skids, perhaps.

*pops back in to say...*

Duran Duran!  Yeah baby!

*giggles at 195*
When I was in middle school, I had this group of friends.
We wore jean jackets and sunglasses and we listened to Duran Duran.
There were 6 of us so when we played it didn't add up you see.
Everybody had a Duran Duran boyfriend but me ...
