the gym I go to has a little box of quotations at the front of the gym so when you sign in you can randomly choose a quotation and get inspired. They're great. I can't remember what mine was today though...
If you keep doing what you've always done, you'll keep getting what you've always got."
Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can

That is FANTASTIC. Thank you.

That reminds me of a quote from the movie Akeela and the Bee, said by Lawrence Fishburne quoting Nelson Mandela, quoting  Marianne Williamson:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. "
Don't dig your grave with your own knife and fork.
You don't drown by falling into the water, you drown by staying there.
"It's all right letting yourself go, as long as you can get yourself back." -Mick Jagger [my future husband :D]

I've used that quote soo many times, especially when I used to binge or go a week or so without working out. it's seriously helped me through a lot--and the fact that it was Mick that said it makes it all the better. hehe
There are those that say aiming for the stars and missing is better than aiming for the gutter and hitting it.

My addendum:  At least in the latter you achieved what you set out to do.

(and revolution3--Mick Jagger?  There's proof that beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.)
Ralph Marston
Your goals, minus your doubts, equal your reality.
Really nice quotes here and on the site... Thanks for sharing
That quote by Marianne WIlliamson is one of the best things I have read in a LONG time.

Thank you!

I couldn't agree more with the sentiment that "it is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us."

The idea that I am going to achieve my goals that scares me most sometimes, but only sometimes!
Great quotes! My favorite and the one that always runs through my mind when faced with a challenge is "No one ever plans to fail, they simply fail to plan."
...and those that focus on planning never actually get around to doing the actual job.  (e.g. State Gov't)
