Ooops 2500 mg of sodium just for breaky

Now i'm wondering how to control that for the rest of the day. When I got up this morning my knees are very tight like they are full of fluid too. I'm retaining sodium. I didn't set out to eat a lot of sodium I just didn't plan very well. I made an omlette with 2 large whole eggs, sun dried tomatoes in oil, 2 slices of bacon and cheese. Ughhh lots of veggies in it too but I see where all the sodium came in there.

Lots of veggies and fruit I guess.

I'd guess the cheese, bacon and in part the tomatoes. It sounds delicious, though. Though one day's high sodium won't hurt you, do you often exceed your sodium RDA? Given your health complaints lately...

... Too much or too little salt in the diet can lead to muscle cramps, dizziness, or even an electrolyte disturbance, which can cause severe, even fatal, neurological problems.

To reduce your salt intake as much you can for the remainder of today, try sticking to as unprocessed food as you can get. Fruit, veggies, grains (a rice based dish, perhaps; bread will inherently contain salt), legumes/beans tinned in water, eggs... if you want eggs again, of course. Heh.

I use to eat alot of sodium before coming to this site yes. My average was probably 3500-4500 a day and sometimes 5000 daily total.

But since being on here I have tried to keep the total daily limit to 2500-3000.

I made white beans today. Soaked them over night but I did put a ham hock in there. Actually it's a ham bone left over from Christmas that I had frozen. So maybe I will wait to have that another day as my sodium levels are high already.

Thanks for the link.

you also neglect to realize that your breakfast is also insanely high in cholesterol and saturated fat.

No I did not neglect to realize that I know that I just didn't say it. I kinda did that part on purpose because my body was screaming at me from the night before of not eating when I was so hungry and I wanted it to have fat. I did that purposefully but did not realize what I was doing with all the salt. I didn't think it through first. All I knew is that I had to eat and eat now.
