oops, guess I still can't trust myself around chocolate.
Anyway, since they're so "good" for you (or at least not as horrible as other candy bars), I figured I would buy a box to satisfy my chocolate craving every once in a while.
Yeah, and now the whole box is gone a day later. oops.
Ever happen to anyone else with your weakness food?
Reason: Released as sticky
Chocolate and chips are my Achilles heels. I do okay with them being in the house and even in sight as long as the package is sealed, but as soon as it gets opened, (by myself or someone else, it doesn't matter) all bets are off and said item is as good as gone!
With a treat item, I sometimes make it inconvenient to get ahold of. Chips and chocolate in the attic, ice cream in the basement freezer instead of the fridge freezer. I'm usually too lazy to bother with making the extra effort to get the junk!
I love the idea of storing stuff far away...chips in the attic! lol!
Once we decided to buy a lot of junk for the Christmas party we were going to be having, as well as just the regular huge amounts of candy to be had that time of year- we put 30 bags of Lays in the attic! No joke! I have 8 boxes of Chips Ahoy right now sitting at the bottom of attic ladder waiting to go up !
How sad eh?! :D
I am having a bunchload now.
oh yeah... tortilla chips and salsa. I'll go through a whole jar of salsa in like 2 days
turkish spicy sausage
cheese toasties
chips / crisps / fries
salami
i never ever buy multipacks like that any more Lol for that very reason

I bought a box of Kinder Country chocolate at the grocery store yesterday because they come in individual candybars with only 130 calories in each. And actually they have an A- grade on CC because there's milk and grains in them.

The benefit: Now you know that and it's also out of the house now, isn't it?
Always look at the good side and move on.
I had a really bad problem with chocolate before. I was seriously to the point where I felt like IT controlled ME. I posted a topic on a yahoo forum about it, and received a great tip that really helped me over come my chocolate addiction. The candy dish that, even to this day, sits out at my office is always full of various kinds of candy. I have to walk by it atleast 10 times per day. It used to get me each and every time I walked past, but now it's very occasional that I allow myself to have a piece. The tip that helped me said to smell the chocolate, and that alone will satisfy your craving. When I read that reply to my post, I literally rolled my eyes. I didn't believe for a second that smelling chocolate would help me not to put it in my mouth. But I gave it a fair shake, and it worked! It wasn't immeadiate, but it taught me that I really did have self control, and that I did not have to take a peice from the dish each time I walked past.
I recommend you try it yourself! I hope it works as well for you as it did for me. Not all chocolate smells alike : ) Hersheys milk chocolate (bite sized pieces) worked pretty well, as it gives off a stong scent that smells just like it tastes (sounds obvious, but not all chocolate smells the same as it tastes!)
I am a chocoholic, but I keep it in check.
Here's a tip, but I'll warn you that you must have a lot of determination and willpower.
Now, think about this...when you want something like chocolate, it's not because you are hungry, right? It's because you want the taste of it and there is nothing wrong with a taste, again, as long as you keep it in-check.
I buy a bag of dark chocolate chips and have about 1/2 a serving, which is only 8 chips...you think that's not a lot, but, it's the way you eat them. Sure, you can pop a handful in your mouth, chew them up and be done, but that's only a momentary gratification. Instead, I have one little chip at a time, put it on my tongue and let it melt...really taste it, not just devour it. Those 8 little chips can last for a good 1/2 hour...now THAT's satisfaction.
Also...if you have a LOT of willpower, and some people have said this is just weird of me to do, but, I keep a bag of those bite-size milky ways in the freezer. Take one out, do the same thing, let it sit in your mouth and melt...when it gets all chewy, go ahead and chew it, but don't swallow it, spit it out. There...you got your taste in, with just a fraction of the fat, sugar and calories.
OK...so I may be a little weird, but it works!
Good luck!

Oh, wow, I sure couldn't spit out chocolate. Here's a pathetic story-
Last weekend my husband brought home a package of Reeces Easter eggs. The temptation wasn't great because the bag was sealed. However, he decided to open the bag and I was right there watching him do it, so I went over and put my hand out for an egg. He said no, and I gave him a look like "no you didn't!" and grabbed one. He chased me around the kitchen, trying to get it out of my hand. When he caught me, I popped the egg in my mouth foil and all! After about 5 minutes of him trying to convince me to spit it out and me adamantly refusing, he gave up and I went upstairs to remove the very melty, soggy foil wrapped chocolate, unwrapped it and enjoyed the taste of chocolate and victory very much!
I know, very sad! :D
Yesterday, I made chocolate chocolate chip cookies...bad idea. Until lately, I was strong and could resist but yesterday wasn't one of those days...warm and gooey!
delicious!

haha, very funny! Maybe he needs to try reverse psychology. For me, there's nothing that will make me do something faster than someone telling me not to do it!
I can be the same way Jennifer. If he had made a bet saying that there is no way I could resist eating one before the end of the day, I would've had no problem staying away from them- I love competitions/challenges!
Yup healthy but a calorie disaster when portion control is a serious issue.
Oh i have a really good one! I am a sweet aholic! I love sweets that is my down fall. The fiance and i will bash an entire batch of cookies in ten minutes and happily go back for more ahh! The thing i do when i am down to crunch time like right now (i am trying to get ready for our vacation) i use this tip i found. When you think about chocolate or see it and want it quickly think about something else. Anything else. Cravings do not last long and if your mind is one something else it will be easy to forget about it. Me personally i like to run through my list of to dos but you could think of anything yourself in a bathingsuit, cars, sports, shopping, whatever.
Another thing is i only keep a big hunk of frozen chocolate in my freezer. WHy? Because if its frozen it will have to thaw or i will have to chop it up and make cookies out of it which takes awhile and most of the time i dont want it that bad. I also do this because if i am making the cookies i can subsitiute the fats out and make them healthy. I usually only keep one chunk of chocolate and thats only when i am at the weight i wnat and can splurge a little but as far as i am concerned i dont keep anything i shouldnt be eating in my house or it will find a way to my mouth!![]()
Ah! Ice Cream is the WORST for me. It got to the point where I made rules for myself in which I could only consume a certain amount every week. I started out with only 4 servings a week *Yes, I used to eat it THAT much, though it seriously was like the only dessert/ sweet type food I ate* now I'm down to 3 servings a week. What really helped was when I gave it up for lent, because I really don't crave it like I once did.
