Look at maintaining fibre and a good mix of soluble and insoluble fibre.  Try for 35grams per day.  I love the calorie count log for its nutritional analysis to help with this.  The fibre plus some regular exercise almost every day.  Inactivity just stops me up like nothing else.Laughing

The caffeine in coffee does make one have to GO more often. Are you drinking more than usual? Maybe cut back, or cut it out, and see how your body responds.
I eat dried fruits, like apricots, raisins and prunes. 1 serving of apricots gets things moving for me within a couple of hours.

You guys are fast! Thanks!!!

But see this is the weird thing. I eat a TON of fiber, I normally drink about 2 cups of coffee a day, and I drink water all day long!!!!!!

I think one problem is that I had fast food three times since last Saturday and I haven't had fast food in a very long time!!! I am trying to recover but I just feel so bloated and crampy and gassy!

I've drank tea, hot water with lemon, I ate some bran, fiber one, flax seed, dried cranberries, and still NO MOVEMENT! Insane right???

I'm also toying with (and havebeen) the idea that I might have IBS and this could be a side effect of too much white flour??

Oh and I am extremely active! I ran 5 miles yesterday in 45 min and nada!
Well, to give way to much detail here. I had a similar problem this week.  Despite my usual care for healthy eating and exercise something stopped me up.  Nothing for days.  I resorted to a gycerin supository from the drug store.  The result is pretty fast, lt 1hr, and after that back to normal.  I just could not seem to resolve it so it was my last resort.

senna tea usually works... only downfall it is a stimulant laxative, but it is very gentle and works over night.
Are you getting enough fat in your diet? You should be getting at least 20-30% of your calories from fat. Although peanut butter may 'feel' like a clogger because of its pasty texture, it helps move things along because of the fat in it. You can get more fat by eating peanut butter, nuts, seeds, olives or olive oil, avocado, or flax seed.

Eating too much fiberous food without enough fats and water can have a 'clogging' effect. Be sure to drink plenty of water and add some fats, and give it some time. :)

Well I eat a lot of peanut butter every day- which I should probably cut back on lol- and I had some avocado the other day... I had movement today for the first time! woowoo I resorted to "smooth moove" tea. But it wasn't as MOVING as I expected after all the fiber/etc I've been eating...

I noticed that when I'm "stopped up" I eat MORE subconsously I binge a lot more, I think my mind is thinking that the more food the faster it will get outta there!

Uhhh :(

try metamucil it helps with both constipation and diarrhea. it is a bulk fiber which is the type needed for irregularity issues. Sometimes eating fiber from various food sources is not enough.

Benefiber is cool, you can sprinkle it on anything, and it has no taste/flavor.

Also green tea is no joke, be careful with it.

I've had the exact same problem since I've joined WW again.  You know I had hot chili last night and it's the first time I've been able to go like a normal person in weeks!  Thanks for asking it's a delicate question.  I'm going to try to eat more fiber as well and see if that helps.

This recipe has been helping me...

1/2 cup Fiber 1

1 small apple

14 baby carrots

I cut the apple and carrots and mix everything together. Sometimes i add sweetner to make it taste a bit better.

I think the fast food will do it every time... high in fat and processed grains, low in fiber.  If you do fast food, try Subway or one of the other chains that will throw a LOT of veggies into it.

For me, as long as I have a lot of fruit and raw or lightly steamed vegetables and whole grains and watch the fat intake, everything moves well...  Go for six or more servings of fruit/veggies and try to avoid the refined flour and things should work out in the end.

Try oatmeal or Fiber One for breakfast.  Also, the Fiber One bars ROCK - they are like candy and only 140 calories with  ton of fiber in them!

So I had oatmeal for breakfast and cooked spinach for lunch and that was enough to get things going again! Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I think that the problem was TOO MUCH WHITE FLOUR+ fast food which  I usually never TOUCH! Ya'll rock!
